Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice...
Instead of giving homeless people money, I think it's a good idea to give them food or other resources instead, like most people seem to agree on. I have prepared a few care packages (a ziploc bag of non prerishable food items and basic toiletries) to give out, but am unsure how to go about doing this. I'm not sure how to approach the homeless or respond to them asking me for money by taking out a care package from my bag. My concerns are whether they'd be receptive to the idea, or insulted by "charity hand out". Everything I have included in the care packages are brand new, and I have no intentions to upset anyone.
So the next time I see someone sitting by the streets with an empty cup, should I just be brave and go up to him/ her? Thank you for any help I can get! 🙂

I completely agree with you VL, instead of giving money to the needy and homeless people one should give them food or other necessary resources. Because a study has shown that many poor people spend the money on tobacco, alcohol, and gambling instead of buying food and other nerdy things for their family. If one wants to help the poor and needy people, then they can become volunteers for humanitarian trips like voyage humanitaire and help children in educating and health missions.
