I am a 20 year old female. With positive thoughts.

But for some reason if me and my boyfriend get in arguements I start to cry.

When I was living with my mother and we use to get into arguements and after I would tell her what I wanted to be said. I use to lock myself in my room and cry of how I talked back to my mother.

But now I can not run to my room or hide anywhere because I live with my boyfriend.

He screams at me and I start to cry and then I start to shake because I get nervous.

I just don't know why.

mama,
I can't really relate to your situation but I can try to understand. For one thing, why is your boyfriend screaming at you, that sounds like a problem in itself. Perhaps...sometime when he's in a better mood you could express to him just how much it's hurting you when you get into arguements. If you don't argue then you won't have to worry about crying, right? It's probably just a reflection from your childhood. There's nothing you can do to forget that, but you can just try to remember what a rough time that was and just how miserable you were and realize that you don't wanna be like that anymore and just try to deal with your emotions in another way, for instance when you feel like crying, try going for a walk and for as hard as you feel like crying, walk just that hard and fast....just a thought.

Crying , per se, is not a problem. In fact it might be help to release emotions. However, it should not be a way to escape from facing problems. Cry, but face and solve your problems .Good Luck.

I tend to cry when I get angry, nervous, upset, happy, sad, you name it. It's just a release of emotions. Some people don't cry a lot, others do.

but I only shake like that when I get really angry. I know now that I shake when I get angry because of seeing a therapist. Before I didn't really understand why and she helped me to see that I was repressing my feelings of anger because women, very commonly, have no outlet for their anger besides yelling. For men, it's ok to punch walls and have physical outburst but women are taught never to express themselves in that way.

You're probably feeling nervous when you shake because of the repressing of emotions.

I think I'm fat so I cry and cry and puke up my food. Nobody loves me and my only love is my precious body. I love to touch it.
