When you really care for someone and want to be with them, but they are someone else, is it better to have them in your life as just a friend, even though it hurts that you are not closer, or better to walk away, even though you can't bare the thought of them not being a part of your life? It feels like a curse.

I would walk away. Better to feel pain now and be free later, then to always want what you can't have.

Even though I'll be seeing them every now & again. It hurts like hell. Would it be wise to let them know how I feel. I've heard that you can't feel like this and the other person not know. Is that true?
