I haven't posted about this.

BUT I have told her about the condition that I think we share.

Gave her the major bulletpoints of codependence and it described us both perfectly.

I tried to give her Pia Melody's Book, cause it helped me so much, Love Addict/Avoidant. I know she would find herself in this book.

BUT, both my sisters have a tendency to trivialize my suggestions/advice.

Part of it is because I'm their baby sister and they will always see me as their little nuisance with pig tales.

Another reason is because, I really try to live out my Cristian walk. And sometimes I'll speak faith things when they speak natural things, or say about myself what Jesus says about me, or call a sin a sin (in a gentle way ofcourse). BUT it makes them uncomfortable, I guess.

Makes them think I don't live in the real world, I guess. AND since we're suppose to be in this world but not of it, it guess it fits. Things do get a little tense sometimes with us.

I tried to give my sister the book, and she said to me: "I don't want to read some self-help mumbo jumbo, You're all theory and no practice."

aw, honey thanks for listening, you've done wonders by just doing that. I feel very supported by you.

I'm done talking about my problems for a while.

In the grand scheme of things they are SO VERY SMALL.

My proverb for today is: If you put things where they belong, you'll know where to find them.

Man OH MAN, does this fit my day today.

That's a very practical proverb Y&R thanks!

I think your sister is gonna suffer if she continues to be in this relationship. I honestly encourage you to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Ok, Good morning guys!

I don't know why I don't like the proverb: You can't have your cake and eat it. Why???

I love this one so much:

* Be a GIVER, not a getter;
be of SERVICE to others.

2 thumps up to this one!!!

are proverbs the same as affirmations?

'better to have lost in love than never to have loved at all'

'better to have lost in life than never to have lived at all'

There is a purpose to every life and for every life there is a purpose.

An anxious heart weighs a man down but a kind word cheers him up.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Yes lewis, any thing that can motivate you and keep you going and work as pick me up.

Thank you so much for your proverbs, I love them. They give me so much power.

The 1st one I remember when I read it, I felt like nothing is wasted in this life, even when love story does not work. The fact that we loved and took the risk to love someone is very empowering. It give us joy no matter what! ~Ras~

Hi Guys,

This one seemed REALLY appropriate for our cozy little, e-village of mental health:

True friendship is seen through the heart not through the eyes.

Speaking of our e-village:

-Do we have a President?
-Do we have a Mascot?
-Do we have a bird, song, anthem?

Thanks for everything Ras. YOU are my girl!

This one seems to fit the kind of day I'm having:

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.

Others stay for awhile and leave deep footprints on our hearts...And we are never, ever the same.

Y&R: Very True!!!
Hoping: I always mention that when I want to destress and seek His Will!

Now, here is my choice which I love so much and find so inspiring!!!

Creativity can solve almost any problem. The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything.
~George Lois~

The Quest for Creativity

Effective problem solving and creativity go hand-in-hand. Fundamental to overcoming challenges and resolving problems is the ability to generate multiple innovative approaches to new and existing dilemmas. Unfortunately, our educational system, most organizations, and society in general often stifle creativity in the search for structure and operational efficiency. To build your problem solving muscles, try exercising your creativity by exploring art, music, and other forms of creative thinking.

Touche' Ras, on your quote on creativity and problem solving! So true. Many great outcomes from thinking 'outside the box'.

I saw one this morning on a car (not just a bumper sticker but actually lettered on the car!)...not so sure about it. What do you guys think?

Better to lose a lover than to love a loser.

Hmmm.

Some truth remains hidden from those who consider themselves wise and prudent, but is revealed to babies (childish, untaught, and unskilled).

Love is not something you feel, it's something you do.

And, if you're loving someone that doesn't love you back then do yourself a favor...save it for someone who does.

Omw,

What does your proverb mean:

Rolling stone gathers no moss. I hear it quite often, yet do not understand it. Please explain!

Y&R

As a codep, I will be using this proverb as challenge to help me fight off codep in me whenever I fall in love with guy who does not love me.

Guys, I love you!!!XOXO~
