Thought this would be a good mid-week lift. Plus, I'd like to print the list and start working on cheering myself up.

Right now mine is: Napoleon Dynamite.

I can't think of a movie, but let me tell you...the biggest, quickest pick me up for me is "Queer Eye"...ahhh...just thinking of them make me smile 🙂

Sometimes it's surprising what will jolt you out of a mood for a moment. I was in an awful mood when I saw Jiminy Glick (not my choice either) and Hitch and they both had me laughing hysterically.

As for shows I like the old episodes of That 70s show. It's so silly and I never get tired of the reruns.

But I have a documentary on Klondike & Snow, these rescued baby polar bears, that never fails to make me squeal with delight.

I watched "First Wives Club" on TV last weekend. Forgot how funny it was- guess I was rooting for the gals for personal reasons. And they rock in the end!

Mine is a great kids movie - The Sandlot. It's so funny and just brings you back to the long days of summer when you were a kid.

Napoleon Dynamite is GREAT.

Here are some others:

Ferris Buler's Day off

When Harry Met Sally (yes, I'm a girl)

Dave (for the politically disappointed)

Any thing by WWWWWWHOOOOOOOOPIIIII

She is my favorite star, she makes me laugh, she is hilarious. She is the Queen of Hollywood. I wish I could have g/f like her.

To those among you who are suffering from the sorrow of love, wistfullness, or nostalgia, Go for Whoopi Goldberg.

Thank you bstrong for this smart thread. I think this is the "Fun thread"right? I was praying for one today, we haven't had one for a long time.

I loved Napoleon Dynamite too! When he says "you sicko" I Love that.

I love the movie The Sweetest Thing. It's a girly movie about best friends. It cheers me up. AND hearing the song Escape (the pina coloda song- I spelled that waaaayyy wrong)

I agree with Old school too...When he runs naked says" hey everybody's doing it" and there is noone there but him! HA funny shit

Random, the princess bride is great! It's also a book an excelent read.

OK, I know, it's about a hooker who finds love by getting paid, but Pretty Woman is so good for making me feel all warm and fuzzy, and if you look like those guys, morals be damned.

Besides that, I'm a HUGE Doris Day-Marx Brothers girl. Give me 'Pillow Talk" or "Animal Crackers", and I'm just happy as can be.

I have to confess something though, I REALLY get into a good mood when I watch "Carlies Angels". Great soundtrack, well choreographed, light-hearted...I just love it!

Rasing Arizona is great...when I was watching that a lot as my pick me up movie I was also really enjoying Peewees Big Adventure a lot--kind to think of it, I wouldn't mind having a little marathon and watching them both tonight!

I saw Billy Elliot also - not well known but a real jewel.

Cat Stevens is one of my all time favorite artists - have alot of his soundtracks, and the music goes perfect with Harold and Maude. My kids watch Sandlot all the time, so it is I have watched 20 or 30 times.

Wow! Before commenting I read everyone's favorites - I thought noone would have even heard of The Sandlot, but like Tracylyn it takes me back to childhood - also, like Desert Moon my kids have watched it countless times - I also get enjoyment by watching them watch The Sandlot! Another movie I LOVE, but maybe noone has heard of is The Scarlet Pimpernel. And lately I've been wanting to re-watch League of Their Own. Great topic for a thread - thank-you 2bstrong! BTW - what is Napoleon Dynamite about? Oh yeah, and I LOVE Pricess Bride - a classic that I could watch over and over! Okay, I'm through now! ~saralynn

You guys are great! Thanks for the good ideas.

Napoleon Dynamite is different--good and clean, no foul language. About a "unique" high school student named Napoleon and his pursuits...good stuff.

I've got to see the The Sandlot.
