I was wondering if there were any "normal" people here who could help me with my curious situation. You see, I need to compare my experience with the experiences experienced by "normal" types so that I can get an objective assesment of my own predicament.
I am at such a loss. I was visiting a star trek convention with a friend last week, here in nevada, and to my surprise, many of these individuals were certain that they were in fact employees of the u.s.s. enterprise. Now this i found highly amusing, but it soon became disturbing when many of these people were convinced I was their long lost Spock. I found the whole situation ripe for some power tripping, so like a white man stumbling upon a primative tribe and subsequently being worshiped as their god, I thought I would demonstrate some "powers"
Un;ike a primitive tribe, I knew they had seen fire before therefore I began to demonstrate logical fprms of reasoning regarding their questions, all the time remaining emotionally void(not hard for me) some of these treky convention goers decided to test the limits or validity of my emotional emptiness by trying to mock me as I spoke with a monotone voice. In fact, I was very good at it, and didn't react to any provocation. I was soon invited to a party afterwards, with some lucky ladies, who all wanted a piece of me.
Anyways, tune back for the second part, you wont believe my ears, I mean, your eyes.

I disagree, mainly because American society rewards the behaviors that are on the lower end of the continuum for antisocial personality disorder. Greed, selfishness, ruthlessness, impatience, ambition, manipulation.

I propose that the word normal should never, ever, ever be applied in psychology.

There is simply healthy and unhealthy. Unhealthy is self-harming and destructve behaivors. Healhty is those patterns of living that are most beneficial to motivating people to get the most out of life and relate to others in a positive way.

most interesting, especially the fact that two human analyzers are debating with each other regarding the definition of "normal"
It is illogical to assume that there is any standard of normal behavior. All behavior is static and changing, as long as you arent locked up and you manage to wipe your own bum with the meat cutter, I guess you must be faring pretty good.
ouch, sliced bum here, anyone for a toasted sliced bum sandwich?

Normal: conforming to the standard or common type; average, middle. What is normal for a DAR meeting is not so for a StarTrek convention.

What is normal? Its a bit like the question What is naughty?A hard one to answer.I think normal is how you feel when you are all happy inside and you feel on top of the world, and you couldnt care less what other people think about you.I feel pretty normal today ,how about you lot?

A Star Trek convention is not normal, period. One would have to be functioning in the realms of fantasy and unreality to believe that Spock was real and incarnated here on earth, yet these Trekies do and devote their lives to believing they can be "beamed up" or anyone who crosses them must be a klngon in human disguise.

My ears are twitching, I sense Jim needs me....(tap tap on enterprise badge...molecular beam is reconfiguring my molecules in another dimension):)
