just today, as I went off to buy a gallon of milk and some heavy whipping cream to make my ritual cappiccino - I noticed a woman sobbing in the corner of the parking lot. I went inside and purchased what I wanted and decided (against abrupt assumtions as to why she might be there) decided to just pull up with my car and ask if she was alright. Well, as it turned out - she was just waiting there for the chance to mop the floors or do anything that would earn her some money for kerosene fuel. It appeared that her heat ran out around 4:00 in the morning and she was just trying to gather enough money to fill a gallon's worth of kereosene to keep warm. NOT what I expected!!!! Like most folks - I saw her there and ASSUMED that she was just looking for a hand-out.....but much to my surprise she was just in a real bad way. Her 18 year old son was killed recently by a drunk driver...she was diagnosed with cancer and everything just really took a turn for the worst for ths woman......reality is....life can CHANGE ON A DIME for each and every one of us......truth be told. So, I took her to get just a gallon of kerosene so that she would not be cold tonight....and all the while it put my own life into perspective about just the neccesities we need in life. I did not look "down" on this woman - because I realized that in just an instant....my life.....or any one's of our life can just turn in a dime. This lady, Debra....said that I was an angel to her for showing up out of no-where....truth be told...she rescued me out of a life riddled with assumtions of a life pre-disposed of such things that I once placed such wieght to of things that are quite insubstantial in contrast. I felt actually "priviledged" to be able to supply myself with just the basics of life....food, clothing and shelter and I had a real "wake-up" call to all that that I had taken for granted. While this lady may have thought of me as an "angel" that came to her rescue......quite conversely - though she may never know.....actually came to my rescue insted. A very humbling experience in deed - to me.......

Brendalee:

Is it not just amazing how we are put in our place or humbled. And the fact that you took time from your day to help. Bless You. We need more folks like you.

Brendalee, what an angel you are....and it shows just how giving something like your kindness, you did get something back, wisdom, in knowing that we shouldn't take things in life for granted, and its true......what does not kill us makes us stronger. God bless!!!
