Hello Mace,

Here is the contract that reflects the reduction of fee depending on payment option selected.

Mace again I would like to take the time to express our concern with your reaction to undergoing orthodontic treatment again. We have experienced other patients who have had to be retreated for whatever the reason. I definately am not down playing what this all means to each person.

Please understand we want to do what is right for you and what is acceptable to our other patients. If our other patients see your reaction, of being overwhelmed each time you come to your appointments - this is and- was unsetting to all of them. A patient that was outside came in to advise us of you and your state, out of concern. This then makes the reception team have to explain to everyone who witnesses this.

I spoke to you about delaying your treatment at this time, due to your emotional fragile state, last Thursday. You wished to proceed at this time. I can understand and will keep your scheduled appointments.

Mace if your reaction, to this situation remains the same, our office will have no other choice but to delay or terminate your treatment in our office, until such time that you emotionally can accept treament.

This is unprofessional and cruel...how can we help our reaction? They are blaming you for something...that is not under your control...I have ptsd and when I get denrtal work done...I cry and they have to sometimes let me calm down...they ordered drugs fir me...they don't work....I would report them to however would be approate...some board or erthics...do not know the right name sorry....but to refuse treatment based on a disabviltity....gosh people sue over those kind of things...

I once had a gyne office do the same to me...in snail mail...cause I insisted they check for a tumor that another office said I had...they had me wait...with my infant, in their office over three hours....I kept asking when my turn was....my baby kept crying and I felt sick...they were very mean...

Not all but a lot of dr offices are full of incompassionate workers who see us as cattle and treat us as a inmconveince to them...
I would report them and tell show people this letter...warn them..there is something wrong here.

Mase - i am so sorry they are treating you like that.

I once wrote a letter to a doctor explaining my fear because I would be unable to verbalize it, and she laughed at me.

I get anxious going to the dentist and have not gone in quite awhile due to that.

I do not allow any doctor to touch me anywhere on my body.

so i commend you for trying to get this treatment despite it being a traumatic experience for you.

is there another place you can try? maybe a place that has more compassion? where you can go an meet with them first and explain your anxiety.

have you ever heard of gentle dental? its for people who are anxious about the dentist. maybe they have something like that for orthodontics?

hope you find a compassionate office to rcvd your treatments.

The letter refers to a "reaction" on your part. What exactly did this "reaction" entail? Were you raising your voice, using inappropriate language, crying hysterically? Or were you simply questioning a contract policy in a calm manner within earshot of other patients?

I think that is the bottom line issue, before deciding how to respond.

The woman that started this all, started questioning me as I was filling out forms. She did this in the front lobby insted of taking me to her office. She made me feel small to the point in mid sentance I asked her who she was and her position. Yes I was a bit loud. You would be too if you where to have ortho treatmeant for the second time and all the pain that comes with it.Plus the time comitmant. I held in most of my tears untill I hit the car, in the parking lot and then lost it. As far as I'm concerned I handled it the best way I know how.

It seems like a blurr now, but she did say that I should go back to the original orthodontist that did my braces and that I would receve a discount. I had chosen this company because they where gentle and fair in price and service. IT was like night and day the difference. But everything I say was cootooes to them making them look good. Not the first one.

Untill I met HER....... Should I go the the orthodontist and ask him if he signed off on this e-mail? To see if she is going ROUGE?????

Leave it. Find an orthodontic practice where you feel accepted, respected and "safe." This one will NEVER fill that bill. Sounds as if the bridges are burnt.

So I pull the lady aside, and said there has been a missunderstanding, I wanted the silver, I payed for the silver, I signed for the silver how did this happen??? .....So I might never know why, but all I know is I walked out of there with $250 more worth of clear braces and didn't get to talk to the dr.

Seems they have communication issues within the office...kinda of common these days...understaffed, overeworked...underpaid leaves for mistakes and rude employees...but you seemed to have gotten more than you paid for!!! Ha!
