I am starting this thread in hopes that everyone who likes to get out of the coffeehouse, can go and walk off all that good food and caffeine.

It can also be a place that you can watch the sunrise and changing colors of life go by and not miss what is right in front of you, as I do some times, and a walk on the beach just kind of sets thing stright.

In my humble opinion, the best therapy is wave therapy. Toes in the warm, or damp sand, with sunshine, or fog. The constant flow of the surf, with sets of waves, the sounds of gulls, and there is always a breeze. To be able to look out on the horizon, sun rise, sun set, or even mid day, and ponder what ever, or usually just the completely fullness of the moment. Its my idea of nirvana, so healing. So giving with out asking any thing of you.

I'm a night owl. Can I walk on the beach at sunset instead? Even in the middle of the night, when the moon looks newborn, and all the stars come out to say hello...

love the sound of waves lapping at the shore...so soothing...the feel of bare feet in wet sand...and sunrise and sunset is always beautiful. would love to watch the bright stars fade into morning sunlight.

A walk on the beach at sunset is also very calming the reds, purples, pinks, and grays all coming together in one big brush of gods colors.
Also the sound of the sun sinking in to the gulf and you can hear the sizzle of the water, put out the fire of the days work making all that was hurried slowed, as the sun goes to sleep, and then the full of the moon as it starts it's clime to it hights and shines on the water and in the eyes of the person that you are with.

Ok elliot...walking on the beach is great exercise. Have you ever experienced sparkly sand phenomena?
One evening, a friend and I were strolling the beach talking about our higher power and I notices sparkles flying underneath his dogs feet...It was strange.

So I pointed it out to him. He moved and they appeared under his feet. It was one of those wonderful moments in life that I haven't experienced again. I felt like I was a fairy walking along with sparkles in the sand.

I later told someone about it and they said it was caused by some sea animal and it truly happens occaissionally. It was awesome. So hoping that others will experience sparkly sand in the twilight or early morning hours. 🙂

Once upon a time, I was visiting the Great Salt Lake with my parents, sister, and my kiddos. Now, when I was about 6, we lived in Salt Lake City for about a year and a half--it was one of the worst times in my life, by the way...

Sadly, the lake had really changed. It smelled foul, and the salt levels are so high that there's just nothing there but soft, deep, salt-crusted sand and shitloads of little black flies.

We walked down to the lake and stayed there for about 3 minutes before deciding we wanted to get the hell out of there and fast. I started back to the car, not having realized that now I was going uphill, not down. The sand was soft, and I'm heavy but have these little size 7 feet so I kept sinking like 6-8 inches every time I took a step. It was a miracle I didn't just fall down dead of a heart attack by the time I got back to the car. I did, however, have the pleasure of watching my parents and sister make the journey in the sand back to the car since I was the first one to head back. The expressions on their faces were almost worth the pain...

i'd like to walk along that beach in my barefeet and as the sun rises sit in the sand and feel the breeze on my face and let it wash away all my cares. listen to the sound of the waves and the gulls and feel the warmth of the morning sun. in the evening watch as the sun goes down into the water and the colors change and fade and all the tension and stress of the day just eases away. watch as the moon rises and the stars come out and lay back in the sand and watch to see a falling star. elliott, this was a good idea. just picturing this in my mind makes me feel good and relaxed.

The pacific ocean is so beautiful all of the time. Ever changing.

The water, waves, and smells are different each time I go there.

I like the tranquility of watching the waves. I use to walk daily on the beach. I miss my walks and hope to start doing them again...real soon and then I won't have to pretend that I am walking but running.
