I just wanted to say that I recently started doing volunteer work in my community and it has been a temendous fulfillment.
The staff is so great to work with b/c they appreciate you because they know you have nothing to gain by being there, you just want to be there.
It takes the focus off yourself and helping others makes you feel good about yourself!
Just thought I would share and If any of you have room in your life to volunteer it's a wonderful way to begin moving on 😉

I completely agree. I trained to be a telephone counsellor with a crisis centre and now work once a fortnight on a busy telephone line helping people out.

Its a great way to move on, learn something new, make you feel worthwhile, and give something back.

I have heard this. WHen I went to see a counselor for my crisis, she suggested I volunteer. It was a way for me to keep busy at a depressing time in my life and also to help others. I have yet to take the advice but I always think about. I just don't know where to start. I still isolate myself these days.

taj; you can look online for local volunteer activities in your area. I know it's hard to get motivated to take that first step but after you do you'll be glad that you did. Sounds like you really want to reach out but haven't. I really recommend this for you, just do it even if you dont feel motivated to take the first step, If you push yourself to do just that you'll fall right in the groove and be glad that you did.. Please dont isolate yourself lifes too short to spend it alone.
