I figured it was time to update my life again.

I'm making attempts at flirting at work. I have no intentions of dating any of the girls. But as a supervisor, I have to be more interactive. So I'm practising on girls that have boyfriends. Not the super-hot girls. I do it with the older and heavier women. I'm keeping it clean. Nothing nasty. But I feel I am getting better at talking to women.

On the other front, I went diggin through AOL IM looking for old friends. Specifically my friend that moved away years ago. For anyone that remembers, the last time I saw him was that first night I was seriously contemplating suicide. That night he just magically appeared at my scout meeting and we hung out for the night. Well... I found him. We chatted online for a bit then we exchanged email addresses. It's unbelieveable, but he's back in NJ. North Jersey, but he's still within driving distance. We have a lot of catching up to do. And, oddly enough, we seem to have a lot of the same interests. He's trying to be a writer too.

Next week I don't have work. I have to go to Hub School for the next few weeks to learn how to be a supervisor. So I got that going for me.

Other than that... I'm still moping around here doing nothing. So, if anyone is still reading, and/or cares, Go Phillies.

Sounds like you are building confidence in a safe way. Good for you.

Thats great that you found your friend too.

Why not try dancing instead of moping?

Go Phillies.

I don't dance. end of story.

I can't hit on hot girls. Deep inside, I know they get that shit all the time and I'd just be another guy trying to jump in their pants.

Silence,

You have come a long way - and you are doing great, in my opinion.

"Hot girls" do get all that crap all the time, the reason they go for plain men lots of times is because it is the plain ones who are really interested in them the person. My sister is a double for Liv Tyler. No kidding, she is. Six feet tall, and get this 38-19-26 naturally. Her husband is skinny, geeky looking and two inches shorter than her. By the way, she is also brilliant - she has three Ph.D's. But, she married him because he was interested in the "real" her, not what she looked like.

Hi Silence!

I'm so pleased to see that you're coming out of your shell - and - feeling good about it. A bit more interaction sounds just what the doctor ordered. 🙂 Best wishes.

Hey silence!

I'm really glad to see that you've hooked up with an old buddy! You must be excited to have someone near that you have a little history with! That is awesome!

Just a little bit of info... I like plain guys, especially ones that have really great manners. When you go to a store or restaurant, look around you before you enter and see if you see any ladies. Hold the door open for them... If someone drops something, make a special effort to pick it up for them. That would also be a great way to start up a conversation while standing in a checkout or something... 🙂

Best wishes!

acj

I still live in my shell the other 20 hours of the day. I still go to the movies alone. I'm just making more of an effort to change at work.

We celebrated all of those damn May birthdays yesterday. Phew. And my cousin is getting married. Now almost everybody I know is hitched or going to be. Only my jerk friend (divorced,) my second sister (peace corps in Africa,) my other cousin and me are the only unmarried ones. Well... I think I'm out of the running, so it's a race between the other three.

never.

This week is soooooo boring. And it's going to be like this for the next 2 weeks. I'm in hub school now learning how to be a supervisor. After they tell us how great UPS is, they beat us over the head with shit that is just common sense. My body is going nuts. I feel like I should be in a truck loading boxes, not sitting in a classroom doodling in my notebook.

I've always been a slacker in the classroom. College was easier because teachers were more specific about what would be on the test. I knew when to pay attention then.

One thing I really dislike about hub school is that we have to have it in Philly. I hate driving all the way into the city every night. Plus the bridge tolls are a killer on top of the gas prices. Why couldn't they have it it Jersey?

Hey - if your body feels like moving: go get out of your room. Take a stroll, try jogging (?).

Or stay in your room and do some mad dancing. I like that for workout - makes me feel good, as long as nobody is looking 🙂

I'm thinking of joining a gym. My jerk friend goes to Bally's occasionally. I might be more inclined to go if I had someone to go with.

And these gas prices are killing me. How come I have to do all of this driving now that gas prices are skyrocketing.

I finally got my first paycheck as a supervisor. It was pretty big because it was for the half of last month when I started out and all of this month. $2,000 total before taxes. Much nicer than when I was an hourly. It looks like the regulr check will be for $1,400 a month before taxes. Which beats the hell out of $200 a week.

I still need to find a place to go. My jerk friend brought up the possibility of finding a place together. He is moving out of his apartment and it might be better if we get together. althoguh I have to say I don't think I'm crazy about living with him, it's better than living with a stranger.
