Hey everybody,

If you can't already tell, I feel it is of the utmost importance, that all American Citizens vote in this election. Everybody. No excuses - unless you are mortally wounded or in child labor all day long.

Don't be a spectator - you need to get up, and participate. Every, single, vote counts. If you want to be rid of the electoral college, if you want better choices next time around, whatever the case may be - your vote is YOUR VOICE. Use it! Blood, sweat, tears, and freedom. Don't abuse that.

Get out there folks!

After you vote, I invite everyone, to "check yourself off here on this thread".

Kinda like wearing a sticker after giving blood.

Top Ten Ways to Make Sure Your Vote Counts Tomorrow (Nov 2)

10. Know your polling place. Many polling places have changed since the last election, so check your polling place ahead of time. If you've not sure where you should go to vote, find out at http://www.mypollingplace.com.

9. Vote in the morning, when the lines are likely to be shorter. Take a chair, or a good book just in case. Better yet, bring some treats to share with your fellow voters.

8. Bring a photo ID. Many states have new identification requirements this year, so play it safe by bringing your drivers license or other official ID if at all possible.

7. Not on the list? Ask for a provisional ballot and vote. Every voter has the right to a provisional ballot, even if your name is not on the rolls.

6. Review the sample ballot before voting. Ballots can be confusing (think "butterfly ballot") and many states have changed their ballots since the last election. If you have any questions about the ballot, ask a poll worker.

5. Make a mistake on your ballot? Ask for a new one.

4. Check your ballot before finalizing your vote. Are your chads hanging? Did the computer properly record your votes? Triple-check everything.

3. Get there late? As long as you are in line before the polls close, you still have the right to vote.

2. Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE if you experience or witness a voting emergency such as intimidation or a challenge to your voting rights. Lawyers will be standing by to provide free, immediate, on-the-spot assistance.

1. SHOW UP! Democracy is not a spectator sport. You have to vote if you want your vote to be counted. See you at the polls!

If you check a straight Democratic ticket, be SURE to make sure it didn't change to Republican on its own....

I'll be out there at 6:00...too many people have lost their lives fighting for our right to vote or fighting to defent our freedom. Thanks for the thread, SC!

I'll check myself off now.

There's a lot of activity at the polls. But sorry silence, mortally wounding yourself on purpose counts as abuse, not excuse! 🙂

I hope we all get there for the experience today. Do it for yourself.

I live in Canada so no voting here. I am undecided on either candidate. Politicians are all the same really. I will say this, Bush scares the hell out of me. That man has a whole lot of power!!!!! Good luck to my US neighbours- may the best man win!!

On my way to the polls now...we still have punch cards, so I'll be careful to remove any "hanging chad" from my ballot! Don't want any recounts in my district....and I hope we don't have to stay up until 3 a.m. this time to find out who won!
