I would like to know of any helpful books out there that are great for couples with communication problems (something HE would be willing to read too!)

I know only the titles of the following four books:

Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus.

Will our love last?

Why men are the way they are.

Making love work.

Give a little more insight into the issues, there are several books, and John Grey has written many good ones. I leave the material in the bathroom, and it usually gets read with out prompting.

I'd really like info. (book titles are great) on productive "fighting" (communication) between partners. What I'm looking for: How to get each of us to listen to each other better; how to avoid negative behavior during arguments; how not to repeat behaviors learned in fighting during childhood or previous arguments (besides just being aware of it)...

John Grey is good, and so is Phillip McGraw, he is on Oprah on Mondays. Structured repeating is good for listening skills, when you say something, having your mate repeate it to you, then the mates turn. There are several seminars that you two could go to as a couple , omega, landmark, church groups on couples, these hit on several dynamics, lots of the toss away alternative papers have ads for seminars too. hey cudos for the effort, and clear language in your request, good luck, working on it is so so much better than divorce, keep heading for the light at the end of the tunnel.
