Where in East Lansing is your dad buried? Did you live around here?

My father died about two weeks after my parents moved there. My mom lived there for about 18 months. I am not sure exactly where because it was about 20 years ago but I could walk to the university from her apartment.
My dad is buried in Evergreen Cemetary. I haven't been ther for years and years. Sometimes I think his grave must be lonely but he was adamanent about being buried where he died. Also I think I can feel close to him just by thinking about him.
My mom is still living but she has said she wants to be buried where she dies. She is 78 and still going strong.
Someday I will return and see his grave again.

Whoa.... sorry Michigan, you asked a simple question and got an essay. But thanks for showing interest. It's been a while since anyone showed interest in talking about my dad.

Tiger,

Don't be at all sorry about the essay. I know right where that cemetary is. Not too far from me. If I knew who he was, I would go visit him for you and leave some flowers.

I am always willing to talk. If you want to talk about your dad...or anything else for that fact...I am here. ALWAYS. And I mean that Tiger. Do you hear me? I care.

That is why I started a whole new thread. IF you want to talk....I am here.

Thinking of you, and your daddy.

Mich

I really appreciate your offer of going to see my dad's grave. I worry sometimes that it is not being taken care of. I'd for you to visit his grave but not sure that I want to share that personal of info over the internet. (I mean I trust YOU scared.)
Just knowing someone knows that cemetary makes me feel good some how.

It is very kind of you to offer the flowers too.
My dad was a good person. He always helped others. When he died he and my mom were just begin to serve a Mormon mission. She continued it alone adn has been serving that way ever since. My brothers and I have married, had kids and grandkinds etc.
Sometimes we feel the loss of my dad deeply and sometimes we feel very close to him
The only sad tears I cried on my wedding day was that my dad wasn't there to see me in my wedding dress.

Of course I'm glad he'snot here to see the martial conflicts I have . He must be turning in his grave. ( you might want to check for that if you visit the grave site) 🙂 I hope you don't mind the graveyard humor. I miss my dad but that shell we bured there in that cold Michigan ground was not the essential part of my dad.
So there you get another essay. Thanks Michigan for listening as always.
