Hello all you guys. I missed you so much. I had to make an emergency trip to Utah. My momo was having eye surgery and insisstd that the family come together so we could sign documents and decide who would make decision if she ever becomes mentally incompetent. The eye surgery didn't work and she will probably be completely blind in a year or so. Sigh.

When I came home I found that my computer had crashed. C. just got it fixed. I was so sad. I felt like I had lost all my friends.
I've been reading AG's thread and I am glad to know that she is around.

I am sorry to hear about your mom...My mom had 3 eye surgery's the past 1 1/2...on 1 eye she had macular degeneration, she let it go too long and had a hole, they repaired the hole, but the vision is pretty much not good....

The good thing is she caught the other eye, in time to stop the macular degeneration, so her vision there has improved...Then she had cataracts removed....

I know how scarry it can be...

Yes, we are sooo use to computers now, that when they crash, it's like your in limbo with no communications..

Glad to have you back

TT: I find you quite a cool and interesting person and now I found out that you're also witty.

Talking about silly names...well, mine is even sillier. I've never imagined myself choosing this nickname of mine that does NOT represent me whatsoever. I wish I could change it and choose something that correspond more with my real personality. (People think of that evil man in Russia much more that and old song by the BoneyM). But that's life, full of inronies.:)

Anyway, take it easy hon and just laugh it out!!!

Good to see you again and keep up the good morale!!!

Coming to this is how I keep up my morale. I can meet up with people who feel like my old friends, I can dish out advice if I feel like it and get tones of advice and sympathy in return.

Ras.. never heard of BoneyM . My school's mascot is a tiger and since I teach there I became Tiger Trainer. I never thought that I'd still be using it months later.

blue mood today. next week is my final evaluation with my principal. This morning he asked me why my room is so disorganized. I didn't have the guts to say isn't not disorganized we are in the middle of producing a play about the history of Florida and this is our scenery.

On a better note the state writing scores came back and our school's average was higher than last years. Hoorray for us. And my students scored quite well. What a great teacher I am. Dispite having an disorganized classroom!!

You are a great teacher, I am sure. It really stinks when administration forgets what teaching is like. I hope that you find somewhere to teach where you are happier.

Yeah for your test scores!!!!!

P.S. If I sent a picture of my desk at school, you would be hard pressed to find any space on the top of my desk, and I don't even sit at it--EVER. I am always sitting at my piano if I am sitting at all.

Did you notice you were blue before or after the principals' comment? Your play makes learning history fun!

Why do we allow others to take our power?

I am glad that you are a Great Teacher Tiger T. I bet you are proud of your students scoring well.

Tiger Trainer,

So happy you are back!

Wow that is heart-breaking about your mom and the blindness for a year. I'd be so sad if my mommy was hurt especially in a way that affects like soooo much.

Mommies are always mommies...sometimes you miss them, love them, and are angry at them as much at 43 as you did at three.

Watching my preschoolers want their moms reminded me how I wanted mine...I'm 28 and the 35 year other teacher said yeah I miss my mom too.

Yes. I loved being with my mom even though it was fairly sad circumstances. I was there about a week and she stayed in the US for about 3 so I could call her every night. Now we are back to email because she is back in Ecuador.

I am happy my mom is still living even though she will be blind soon. I am soo glad i can still talk to her.

I will always be her little girl.

So on a lighter note.....18 more days of school!!!!!!!!!

Lucky you. We have twenty until final exams (so really it is 23)

I can't wait. I need a mental health day. I am not sure that I am going to make it.

I will have to take some time off after my concert on May 17th.

Here's to summer--may it come quickly.

Okay here I am trying to fight off anxiety attack. I wish that silly principal would just give us our assginemnts and our evaluations. The last time I saw him the first thing out of his mouth was, "why is your room STILL so unorganized.

I think that is all he sees in me. Not my improved test scores not that I have held a tough class together. just a messy classroom He didnt' even respond to our invitation to see our history of Florida play.

and now in a few weeks the stepchildren will be arriving and I'll have to be the wicked stepmother again. HA HA. Honestly sometimes I wonder if C. really loves his children. He complains that it takes all of our tax return to fly them here, then complains that he has to spend his whole vacation with them. Well guess what the money from the tax return is mostly mine and I also spend my 6-8 week taking care of his children.

OOOH that felt good to vent. Now I better get back to creating a Bliss List before I really get angry and anxious.

Tiger Trainer-

Hello,

Wow, I give you a lot of credit. Teachers have to deal with so much pressure it's unreal. I work with schools a lot and I can't believe the energy that job requires. I'm a children's librarian, and just had a meeting with a central administrator... and let's just say that right now I can relate to what you wrote about the school principal. Sometimes no matter what good you do, they seem to find some flaw and focus on it. Or miss the point completely of what you are doing. Ugh. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that in the end, it is the kids we serve, not these managers. Easy to say, hard to do.

Btw, I noticed your name- that's what made me read the thread! Tigers are one my favorite animals aside from the dog. Is there a special meaning to your name? Just curious.

I hope things get better soon.

Thanks for the support. I've had a tough year. Tiger is the name of our school mascot and I feel like I've been caged in with a classroomful of wild animals this year. (Two kids have been in the juvenile delinquent center this years.)
and sometimes I just want to vent!!!!

Well, AG, I haven't told C. about how I feel about his kids. I like them okay it's just his hypocritical attitude "I love my kids I am depressed that I don't see them." "Why don't I get a vacation? I never get to go anywhere on vacation like you do MH, because my kids use it up!"

I am not sure how to tell him how I feel about it. I want to yell and call him a hypocrite but that won't get his attention. I am not sure talking about it will. I may bring it up in our next marriage counsellign session. We don't go so often anymore because we are 'getting along" but we decided we needed one before his son gets here.
Did I tell you AG how much I admire your strength in being able to take action about your situation.
