If you have read my previous posts you will know that I am going through a really bad time. Broken marriage, lost my home, my husband and my lovely dogs.

Two days ago I had A fall (I suffer with MS) and I have been in a lot of pain. The pain was just above my left breast so I have been walking about holding the breast because support eased the pain. Today I had an appointment with a client who is going through a very bad time (I'm an accountant). We discussed business but then he persuaded me to go to A & E to get checked out.

I went, saw the nurse and was waiting to see the doctor. It was a long wait and I was getting hungry so I bought some hot soup from the vending machine. Within about 30 seconds I had spilt the soup all over myself and had to go back to the nurse and get treated for burns. My clothes were messed up and I had to wear hospital gowns.

I normally wear smart suits and maybe they are a barrier. I must have looked like a mad woman in my hospital gowns and hanging onto my left breast. I laughed so much at myself that everyone was laughing with me. I even went outside for a cigarette and people joined me.

The outcome? I have several cracked ribs, severe bruising and Burns.

I'm not sure why I have posted this I just hope that someone can have a laugh with me.

Chardy,

Great to have a sense of humor, but...ouch!!

Hope you heal from this quickly.

Better stay out or ER's and urgent care centers, too. "Dangerous" places. :<)

Chardy,
It sounds like your going through a great deal. I hope you get well soon they say laughing is a cure for sadness. Make sure the laughing is on the inside and out and that will give you the strenght to keep going and laughing

Chardy,
Ouch! Time to take care of yourself I admire your sense or humor. I found myself out in the middle of the street last Oct. I had fallen(I do that on occassions) I was in a dark area and was so frightened that I would be hit because cars come tearing by no matter what. Thankfully my neighbor heard my pleas and I had my keys and she got my cane out of the car for me. The pain was excrutiating, but I managed to keep moving and just said well at least they didn't find an old lady in the street without a name. I for one with health issues have fallen probably 100 times since '96 but thankful my angels are working overtime. Like you humor is the best medicine and reaction does not work. I try to be more cautious but still stubborn about my cane although when I know my foot is slipping I use it. You have to have a sense of humor to make everyone comfortable and I know you feel like crying. Just know you aren't alone and I hope healing comes quick so the soreness goes away. Keep trying and don't give into it..

Thanks for your posts. The pain is not so bad today, I'm on some very strong pain killers. Like you Travlin I have fallen many times, had cracked ribs last year too!

Despite the pain yesterday was good. I made a real spectacle of myself and was the entertainment for a lot of injured people. At first I felt so embarrassed then I just had to laugh at my situation.

Chardy,

Guess I am not the only one who is accident prone! And smokes as well!
I had to laugh because I had almost done the same thing! Sorry, but laughing when you have cracked ribs is not easy! I went into an emergency clinic here, with what I thought was cracked ribs..bought a cup of coffee, started coughing which was painful..spilled the coffee all over me and the floor, slipped on the spilled coffee and brusied my tail bone...but I didn't get burned. What I had was walking pneumonia! And alot of stained clothing!

Posted to the other thread!

Please take care of yourself!

Love Red
