So, did you used to dread weekends at home when you were a child and if so - do you know why?

Damn, Ladeska. That's a good question, one i've never thought of.

Perhaps I did. Don't remember looking forward to weekends in particular.

Well, it's usually something that's a pattern from somewhere. Kinda like someone hating holidays but not knowing why. If a parent or both parents had issues with holidays and basically made holidays hell - then - there you go...it's passed down to the kids.

I know I hated weekends because I was an abused child, so I felt safer at school. Weekends meant danger for me. I didn't look forward to it at all - but it took me a while to identify why I dreaded weekends. This might not be your case, but just thought I'd bring it up.

Once you identify things - you can have control over them and free yourself. I had to literally give myself permission - to have fun on weekends and to "feel safe" in my own environment.

Maybe a feeling of being useless without work?

I used to be forced to play with a kid who had no friends. I remember my weekends being filled with duty and obligation as a kid. Then, as an adolescent, I was BIG trouble. Trouble was fun. Maybe I haven't learned how to have proper fun on weekends - like you learned how to do.
