Stupid cat... anyway...

There's no way I could possibly live on that I'm supposed to get called in for another interview with the supervisors of that position, but if they can't give more than that, I can't take that job.

I'm having a rough couple of days right now. Let's see... first the boss has been rather irritating. But wayyyy beyond that, I had a friend who asked me a couple of weeks ago if I wanted to go see another friend's show going on right now. I did. Didn't hear from her about it, so I asked her at the awards night Saturday. She said a group was going Weds, was I not getting the e-mails? Why no, I haven't. Yesterday, having not heard any further, I e-mailed her to ask if there were still plans. She said there were, she hadn't noticed whether I was on the e-mail list and then gave all these excuses about why her week had been bad. Made me think of the Boy's e-mail.

I didn't write back. Decided I didn't want to hang out with people who didn't seem to especially want to hang out with me. I'll just go sometime later this weekend.

Got an e-mail from her this morning saying "Didn't see you there last night" and detailing everyone who was there. Practically everyone except me, the way she made it sound, even the Boy. And I can't really tell from the way she wrote it, but it sounds like the Boy had someone with him? Maybe a date? She wrote, listing the names, "this person, that person, the other person, Boy and +!" What does that mean??? Ugh! and all this week following his apology and acknowledgment that he'd been a jerk, I haven't heard a word from him.

I'm so tired of people.

I am going through a very similar experience with the "friends" thing. I don't want to be a burden or a "responsibility" to anyone. I want friends that WANT to call me, talk to me, see me... and when they DON'T... I don't want excuses! I want honest, truthful people in my life. I don't have that right now.

This girl doesn't sound like a very good friend to you. Is it possible that she is a better friend to the boy? Maybe she feels as if she'd be betraying him by including you in the plans for last night? Especially if she KNEW ahead of time that he were bringing a date??? She could have been trying to avoid an uncomfortable situation... or maybe she's just an airhead? Maybe she totally forgot to make sure that you were on the e-mail distribution list and just ASSumed that you were?!

I don't know. I'm not the best person to give advice about this stuff.

About the job... if it is meant to be, it will work out. Believe me! You will get the job you want at the pay you want. Trust in that! Tell yourself that! Over and over.... if it doesn't come through right now... be patient. It will.

I've got to run. Thanks for checking in with me.

It looks like all of our other friends have disappeared!!!!!! Poof!

Okay, so cleared up that the Boy DIDN'T have a date. There were just more people than names she could remember to list and unfortunately her "+" sign fell after the Boy's name, so it looked like she was hinting at something. She wasn't.

But I'm still tired of people. I think I'm eating fried ice cream when I get home. 🙁

C'mon down! LOL

y'know what makes this a double-whammy (although thank God Boy wasn't on a date, making it a triple-whammy)... is that not only did I feel let down by a friend, but it was an obvious opportunity for the Boy to reach out to me and make me feel included ... after apologizing and acknowledging he'd been a jerk last Saturday. It was a big group of people, so no danger of it being too intimate and "date-like".. but nooooo.

I knew he wouldn't reach out to me despite his apology. I knew it was a thin apology, and a couple of days of silence following it was confirmation enough. But it still feels rotten when an obvious missed-opportunity is in your face revealing EXACTLY how little you matter to someone.

I can't get to that fried ice cream fast enough. Ice cream and Forever Knight on DVD will compose my evening. Gotta go home and lick the ol' wounds.

Mmmmm.... fried ice cream. Yum.

Makes licking wounds a little more bearable, doesn't it? 🙂

I've never made fried ice cream but have eaten it at restaurants. Here is a recipe I found online at cooks.com that is pretty close.

FRIED MEXICAN ICE CREAM
Printed from COOKS.COM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 pt. vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. crushed corn flakes or cookie crumbs
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. sugar
1 egg
Oil for deep frying
Honey
Whipped cream

Scoop out 4 or 5 balls of ice cream. Return to freezer. Mix crumbs, cinnamon and sugar. Roll frozen ice cream balls in half the crumb mixture and freeze again. Beat egg and dip coated balls in egg, then roll again in remaining crumbs. Freeze until ready to use (for thicker coating repeat dipping in egg and rolling in crumbs).
When ready to serve, heat oil to 350 degrees. Place a frozen ice cream ball in fryer basket or on a perforated spoon and lower into hot oil 1 minute. Immediately remove and place on dessert compote. Drizzle with honey and top with a dab of whipped cream. Continue to fry balls one at a time. Balls will be crunchy on the outside and just beginning to melt on the inside. 4-5 servings.

Or take the easy route, like I did. I think it was the Bryar's brand. I scooped mine out of the carton. Hehe.

Thanks for the recipe Loralei!

Sd, That was very funny!!!! I agree, but before I fry the balls, I think I'd like to stomp them like grapes...crush them with a hammer or grind them up in the food processor!!!!

I share your fowl mood, can you tell???
