RW2,

Most people who think they are stupid are those who were not nurtured and loved when they were kids.

I think I told you about a thread which I posted sometime ago entitled "U R Unique! Self-Esteem Matters!!!"

Have a look at it. It is very interesting and encouraging.

Love,

Rasputin

Random - no way are you stupid. I hate that word even.

You just need to gain some confidence and self esteem. You come across here as very intelligent, well spoken, well written and yes, even whitty.

Believe in yourself!!!

RW:

Is this the things you tell yourself, or is this what "he" tells you. If you hear the same things over and over and over then somewhere down deep you start to believe them.

Please stop saying or listening to this negative talk. Tell yourself positives. They say it takes 14 positives to undo 1 negative. Guess ya better get started.

Honesty, you are worth so much more than you are allowing yourself to be. Try going thru the day and find positives to everything you say, think, do.... soon you'll see a change in your attitude and things will hopefully not look so gloomy.

STOP being so horrid about yourself & TO yourself! I just want to protect you from you!

What do you think of these qualities? ...

Openness. Honesty. Vulnerability. Willingness to learn. Lack of overbearing ego (so selfish & yukky!) Free from snobbery, from posing, from strutting arrogance?

Aren't these wonderful qualities indeed? 'Cos listen - they SHINE out from your posts! From behind & underneath your (hopefully temporary) lack of confidence & self esteem. They are parts of you - and so precious. Treasure yourself as you rightly deserve. A child of the universe, reaching out for the Goodness that is her birthright.

You sound so vulnerable but obviously a lovely person, with every right to reach out for what she legitimately needs in her life. I would love to know you as a neighbour & friend.

Sending you strengthening, healing 'vibes' and warmest good wishes to find what you need. Blessings - gazelle.

ps. How I wish you would give yourself a name that holds special meaning expressing something unique & positive about your lovely inner-self.

You are not stupid!!!! You are a smart, intellegent, bright woman!

Tell yourself that 10 X daily.

I was told I was stupid all my childhood and believed it. When I was in my early thirtys, I wanted to go to nursing school, but thought as I was told I was not smart.

So, I went to the public library and took a test. Then they recommended I go to the community college just to take one course, to boost my confidence, which was a speech course. Then took a writing class. Very basic. I did well and was surprised at myself. It felt so, so good.

Then I went to nursing school at a community (or junior) college, then onto college. I no longer feel dumb. Well, sometimes, even here especially up in Libs.

So taking a class for yourself will really help to overcome this fear and prove to yourself you can do it.

rw2--

When we compare ourselves to others, chances are we will never measure up. Believe me, I have put myself through hell with this, and when I didn't think I was good enough for other people, I would make up stuff about things I had done, places I had been, people I had seen, etc.

You're a joy rw2! Unique, loving, giving and sensitive. Those are gifts and talents. Not everyone is given those to share.
