Hi everyone. I am scared. I am starting therapy again tomorrow, and there is so much I need to get out. So much I desperately need to talk about, but I can't remember half the shit, and I don't like talking about my problems to someone like a therapist.

I don't know what to do, I'm freaked out, but I need it so badly, it's almost scary.

I will post after I get home tomorrow to let you all know how it goes.

What are you afraid of, this is someone you will need to trust. What we are afraid of is finding out the truth, which will be helpful. Let us know how it goes. Good luck and enjoy the peace.

I think the fear of going to a therapist is worse than the actual visit. I think you it will go better than you think. You're just nervous.

DS,

Therapy can be tough, but it can also help ALOT. Right now I am waiting to get in to see a new doc (a week away) and I cannot wait - I just need someone who can be objective about all my issues to help me sort out what is healthy and what is not. And being able to vent is just the BEST.

I do agree with cpt1212 though. Being comfortable with your counselor is the most important thing, because you HAVE to feel trust in them. Go at least a couple of times (the first visit is always a bit uncomfortable - getting started, getting the basic facts out) - then if you still don't feel comfortable or hopeful about the therapist, find someone else. I've had to change docs before - but it HAS been worth it!!!! Hang in there and don't give up trying to get the help you deserve!!

Please do post and let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking of you (and envying you :P)...

Hugs,

CC

well, there was no actual visit with the therapist. i have to wait til june 27th for that. today was just orientation to the clinic itself.

i've been in therapy on and off for 6 years. i know how it goes, i'm just in a different place now than i have ever been before. things are so much different now.

anyway, thank you guys for your support. it is much appreciated.

love

I don't understand this system. Mental health care really sucks. I don't understand why people out there who are really suffering and need help have to wait so incredibly long for appointments like this. If you were having a heart attack, do you have to wait 2 weeks for help? I am frustrated with this scenario. I am sorry you have to wait so long, DS78 Hang in there though just the same.
