Although I have many invitations today, I am chosing to be totally alone for the new year's eve. I really want to be alone and think about this last year. About all the lessons I have learned about relationships, why I attract the wrong men, how to figure out whether someone is being honest or not. The last relationship was nothing but a soap opera with the man lying about everything...He made so many plans with me and every time we would see a picture or a show about a country..he would plan on going there with me and I BOUGHT THIS. He even brought home his vacation schedule so I could decide when WE were taking vacations. All lies because now he is gone forever.

Now I must reflect as to why I believe these lies...I also have to give up a few friends as i find them to be fair wheather friends. They were very eager to hear what I had to say about my breakup and then they dissappear...they wont even answer my phone calls. I am too trusting and I must change that this year. I have to create some boundaries for myself to protect myself. I am very open and honest with everyone I meet, but it seems like everyone else is keeping their boundaries and not sharing a whole lot like I do.

I have had a friend for about 20 years who ALWAYS screens her calls and will return my calls 2 days later always complains that she does not have enough time. She has a 2 year old and is a housewife so she is home all day and she has no time to take a phone call.

So this new year's eve...I will spend it alone because that is how I have felt this last year. I will concentrate on making friends and really focusing on getting better emotionally and eventually finding someone to spend my life with.

I hope all of you have a great time tonight and I wish you the best for next year.

Ditto that, 2bhappy!

I am alone as well, but instead of feeling sorry for myself (which would be the easy thing to do), I am going to reflect and welcome in a fresh new start. Isn't it great that no matter how bad we screw up, tomorrow is another day! We get to start all over again.

I think I will take up sdesigns idea of lighting a fire and placing a list of things in there that I am letting go of in 2006. There is something about ceremonially acting out what I am feeling, and I know it's time to either fish or cut bait! Celebrate a new year with me, you guys! The best for all of us is yet to come!!!

Love, plz~

Hello ladies,

I won't be spending this evening alone but I have many times in the past.

My favorite was the year before last. I had been wanting to see "The Pianist" (which I had gotten for Christmas) so I saved it for that night. I bought myself a lobster, ate dinner and then put in the movie.

It was honestly one of the most powerful films I had ever seen. I was so rivited, I didn't even notice that it was midnight until I heard fireworks going off in the distance.

That was one of the best nights I have ever spent alone. Mighty fine company too, I might add.

Hope you both have a great night.

Love,
Lolli

I am right there with you guys....I will be alone tonight and am going to love it. Its pouring rain here in southern Cali and its peaceful. I am just going to relax, unless a friend calls and invites me out, otherwise it will be a great night. Cheers to all!!!

Me too. Not the first time.

I decided to get some work done today. It worked out well. I solved a couple of problems that I've been trying to figure out for the last month, or so.

Free at last, free at last!

Happy New Year!

New Years is a cold abyssmal harbinger of the year to come, more lonliness, more strife, but mainly emptiness, the huge gaping emptiness. It is hard enough to be outside looking in during the general times. To be excluded on the Holidays is unbearable! I for one am home alone and waiting and counting with great glee and happiness!!! Waiting for the end of the farcical holiday season. For when it ends one can be invisible in the day to day workings of life all the while being outside yet unified with others who work their own machinations to their own ends.

I think I kinda remember that hug. It was Sad Mike and I think he called it a "money hug".

Something like this, right?

Philmore,

Oooohhhhh, Shaney's gonna be maaddddd.

The money hug is most definately Shaney's. :0)

I know you meant no harm. Don't worry, she and I are tight....I'll talk to her...I"m sure she'll understand. 🙂

Thanks for the great hug and I hope you have a nice holiday.
