My son was diagnosed with coxsackie. The infection is its worst form. It can in its worst form cause viral meningitis, and heart aneurisms. My 6 year old was diagnosed with what could be the measles, or a similar infection. My four year old is crying with SEVERE headaches, and threw up all day yesterday. PLEASE...I AM AT MY WITS END, pray or whatever you can do. Whatever works.

Thank you all for your prayers. I appreciate them all. Just to clarify...this is my son that will turn 1 on the 31st of this month.

I am tired, and I am sad. Please pray for my emotional and physical strength both please.

Mich -

Coxsackie virus is very common in 6-month to 3-year-olds. It is NOT dangerous. The greatest risk to the infant is dehydration because the mouth sores make them refuse most liquids. So, the challenge is getting liquids into them. Popsicles are a great help with this. The fever, drooling and refusal to drink/eat usually passes within about 5 days. The pediatrician will monitor the dehydration risk closely, but he should be just fine.

If your 6-year-old is up to speed on immunizations, at least you are not dealing with 10-day measles. At worst, you are facing a 3-day bout. Not easy, but hopefully your family will weather the storm. I am hoping it turns out to be nothing serious.

We will be praying for the entire family. And I am also praying that you get some extra help, to assist you in caring for the children. It is not surprising that they are all developing problems, just when you are recuperating from the surgery. That is frequently when this sort of stuff surges through the family unit. Their anxiety and insecurity (because of your being laid up, temporarily) has probably lowered their immune systems and the rest is history.

This too shall pass. I pray it passes quickly.

My son had this when he was 2. He had a high fever. It took a few weeks, but he got better. The Dr's will take good care of him and you need to take care of yourself too.

He is home, and he is ok. It has been the longest 24 hours of my life...BUT...it will get better. It is believed that it is a viral rash....and infection.

Thank you ALL for your prayers and support. Love to you all...NOW....just pray that I get some sleep.
