...I have met recently which has thwarted me out of my gloom and doom..and connected me with others in the most simplist of ways.

Recently, I emerged from my "cocoon" and had to make a bank deposit. Had to do it - had to go out there "in the world" and function....

...and what do you supposeI encountered, nut nothing less than 3 positive experiences:

The first was someone holding the door open for me as I was entereing and she was leaving...we made eye-contact and it was a good thing.

The second was the actual "teller" herself as I conducted my business - she wished me well - then...on the way out - another bank employee wished me a great day - again - sincere eye-contact and positive energy - three times in a row in the course of 10 minutes.....changes the whole outlook of my day!!!!

It reminded me of Louis Armstrong's song...What a Wonderful World.....something along the lines of...."People smile and say: "How Do You Do" - - -what they're really saying is...I Love You.....

What a great song....think that I might even change my answering machine message from an instrumental jazz piece..to this wonderful song.....

Warm & Fuzzies all around...................TBT

Truth - You're VERY lucky.

I'm having trouble with my branch bank and try to avoid going there and do it in another branch as much as possible, even tho sometimes its difficult.

Most tellers in my bank are really "nasty." I already told the branch manager last year and still it continues up to last week the last time I went over.

I don't know what to do but be patient with those people till I, hopefully...relocate!

So consider it a Real Blessing, Truth, when most tellers are kind and genuine with you.

I honestly don't know why is it hard for some folks to just be...kind even when I'm so kind!!! Can someone answer me???

Thank you Isis. I could have never imagined what an impact such "seemingly" simple gestures like this can have on a person....but I now know - first hand what an incredible impact they can have.

I DO look forward to better days...and for these to occur in the most surprising and simplist of ways - both as the recipient and giver of...what was that popular bumper sticker not so long ago...........God....what was it????? Oh Yeah - I remember now....Random Acts of Kindness!!!!

God - I'm all choked up!!!!

Isn't it AMAZING..that the incredible crap our families of origin dump on us....can be smoothed away - to a great extent - simply, very simply, on the unconditional kindness of strangers????

I hate to make this longer than it should be - but what just occured to me right now was an encounter I had about a year ago.......

I live in a very small town, and about a year ago - I ran up to my local, independentally owned grocery store...and saw a woman crying near the entrance.

Well, my first belief was that she was lazy and looking for a hand-out of sorts...and kinda, sorta dismissed her. (God forbid that Republican side of me come out!!!!)

However, when I returned from buying all that I needed, my conscience got the best of me and I asked her why she was crying?

Well, come to find out - she had come to the grocery store to try and earn some money cleaning the back room - but there just was no work for her to do. It had been very cold in GA this particular time of year - and she was just wanting to earn enough money to buy some kerosene for her heater to get through the night.

She cried in my arms explaining that she had never been in this position before - and had been a personal CNA for folks - but was laid off recently and had just been diagnosed with cancer.

I felt her pain as my own.

Although it was not much.....I took her to the local gas station to pay for and fill her container with Kerosene...and you would have thought that I had given her the world.

I dropped her off at her humble home and questioned myself as to why in the world I would judge her to be "less than myself" simply because she was in a place of need - that - as my name suggests.....TruthBTold...LIFE - - - for ALL and ANY of us can just turn on a dime - and we might find our own self in this situation...and are NEVER IMMUNE!!!!

A very humbling and eye-opening experience....perhaps to us all!!!!!

Simple Acts of Kindness are Wonderful!

I remember seeing a show on Opray about doing a kind deed just because!

Thanks for sharing your heart warming stories!

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! It seems to address the most fundamental aspect of US all......that WE make a difference (and in retrospect...actually matter!!!)

Can't argue with a Win-Win now, can we????

Thanks to all for your kind words and understanding. tBt
