It was the strangest thing. It was about 11am and I had layed down to try and get rid of a headache when I heard something right outside my bedroom window. So I quietly peeked out and there was this man taking off my screen and poking his head through my window. He took one look at me and said oops wrong house put the screen back on and left. I didnt call the cops or anything but I am going to be sure that all of the windows and doors are locked tonight. Just please keep my familys safty in your prayers tonight.

RW....you probably should call the police anyway. Just to let them know that someone did this, maybe they will send more patrol cars into your neighborhood to watch for the next few weeks. Can't hurt...that's what they are there for. I will keep you in my prayers too. Hope you are feeling better.

RW:

You are there alone. Just you and the kids. CALL THE COPS and make a report. You cannot get the guy in trouble coz you don't know who he is. And if you did then you'd probably be saving some other lady from harm. He could haver been anything from an ex to a rapist.

CALL THE COPS

Random...call the police and give them the best ID you can: height/weight/race/hair color/eye color/ear shape/clothing/jewelry/tatooes, etc.

Anything you can remember. Most break-in's occur during the day.

Then, take steps to safeguard your home. Get those screens SCREWED IN PERMANENTLY TO THE FRAME. Easy to do. Just need a power drill and screws. Put "height limit" locks on the grooves of your windows. They only cost about $1.98 and can be screwed onto the groove of any window from the inside, preventing it from being raised beyond a certainn height. (Basically, high enough for someone to climb through.) Do you have a dog? If you can, get a barker. I don't know if you are trained to handle a hand gun competently, but I finally went ahead and did this. My son took me to the shooting range, until I became proficient in hand guns. I now have a simplel .380 which I keep in a lock box, clip ready. If anyone breaks into my home, I have the dog to bark and sound the alarm and the gun to protect my son and I, while I dial "911" and await police protection.

I thank God that you are OK and he did not fully enter. Hopefully, he was intent on burglary, not rape. Please take additional steps to protect yourself and your home, such as exterior motion detector lights, planting of cactus or other short (but PAINFUL) bushes in front of your windows and even window alarms(small motion detection units which set off a loud alarm, if any vibration is detected. And of course, make sure you have solid, 1" deadbolts on your doors.

Your local Police Department should have a wealth of resources and courses for home safety and defense.

God bless and protect you.

The other important (and unselfish) reason to report this attempted break-in (which is a CRIME, by the way), is because this same man may have successfully robbed or raped someone else in your neighborhood, following his unsuccessful attempt to enter your home. It is crucial that the police gather any identifying/time info they can get on this man's criminal activities and intent.

PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE MADE YOUR REPORT TO THE POLICE. WE ARE ALL VERY CONCERNED.

Thank you all very very much for your consern. I will do every safty percausion I can to keep my family safe, but untill I can get my house clean I cant call cause the will want to come over. I have been sick for over a month and if someone from the state took one look at my home they would take away my kids. This just happened a few weeks ago to someone I know and there in jail for charges. I am doing the best I can today to get my place cleaned back up. I am not as sick today. I hope everyone understands this. I am trying really hard to get my house back in order. My kids are everything to me. Please dont think less of me for this.

Clean it up fast and call the cops. Wish we could all pitch in and help, but get your kids to help you, OK? Then make that call. You may be saving someone's life. Including your own or your children's.

(((rw))) honey, I wouldn't think less of you...I'm just worried about you. Be extra cautious and watchful, and don't leave your doors or windows open at all, okay? Keep working on the housecleaning, little by little, and take care of yourself. I know you are doing the best you can, okay?

honey, you do what you think is best. But everyone has a good point. You could have saved yourself or someone else. If anyne thinks less of you because of this that is their problem, not yours. I understand. I don't know how far along you are, but if I am correct you are pregnant, which i am as well. I know that my house has suffered and everything else. It is my fourth, and I am tired, and I understand your pain. I also understand the fear of not wanting to lose your kids. I wish I lived close, and knew you personally, I would come and help you. Good luck, and I will continue to pray for your safety. But please do what you can to get this guy taken care of. But I understand that you are worried about your family too. All you can do is your best. Keep your chin up. I am glad that you feel better today. Good luck to you.

Oh dear this kinda happened to me. It was apeeping tom. He continued to return. I called the police and they came. There advice to me -get a dog. I was ticked. I know that not all regions the same. Your area will probably take it more serious. Call the police. What if somone got hurt that night by burgler close in your neighborhood, it might seem information not relevant but it could very well be somone out there was a victem last night.just a thought.
