thank you to the couple people who have been communicating with me.no matter how little my conversations maybe.to get to the point i have been reading on codependency and not realized how bad things were for me or how hard things have been to "deal with"in my own little world i am on a possitive path to recovery and have a bright future in store.it's funny how simple little exersizes can make a world of difference.I am wondering, in order to recover will i have to be,how do i put this,overly aware of my desission and once my behavior patterns do change will it just be natural to"take things as they come?"some advise would be great henu

Things pass whether they are good or bad. It is important to take a look at how you handle it. Take time to think in steps and turn the negative into positive. I have learned to this with a book called Learned Optimism.

I think that recovering from being codependent takes practice just like anything else. The more you consciously practice certain expercises, ways of thinking and responding, understanding your feelings and learning to make better decisions - I think it becomes more natural to feel healthier. Not to say that those tendencies won't crop up now and again, but I think the symptoms of codependency in yourself will become more recognizable, and maybe easier to deal with the more practice you have. Be conscious and aware, and true to yourself always. :o)
