My left fingers have been numb since when I woke up, mid morning. My left arm is only slightly numb, upper arm. I dont know if its the cold, its winter here, or what. Last night I took amplictil to help me sleep. And propanolol 40 with my 900mg lithium dose. Anything to take care of? Tks.

sounds like a pinched nerve to me. Do you ever have back problems? I have had numb fingers because of something out in my back before.

A doctor should diagnose your symptoms, as it could be a wide range of possibilities. Hope you find some relief. 🙂

Tks, RW!I guess its possible. I felt it when I woke up after sleeping on it. Only it didnt go away. So a pinched nerve could explain it.

Hope youre doing well! (((RW)))

You can also contact your pharmacist for immediate advisory on whether the medications you are on may have caused this (i.e., a side effect).

Tks, (((Strong)))! Im not anxious over it anymore. It looks like some bad circulation. I read about the side effects on the meds I take and Im not concerned anymore. It doesnt seem its worth losing any sleep over it. I can try fixing it tomorrow. Tks again!

Sininho, if you are having the same symptoms tomorrow, you should definitely consult with your doctor. Cheers 🙂

This is sth Im going to check into:

"It is possible that this is caused by pressure on a nerve that comes down your arm - it's the radial nerve. We know about this nerve usually through talking about hurting our ‘funny bone’. You know the feeling you get if you knock a certain point on your elbow and the numb pain spreads right down into your hand. The fact this is present in the morning might mean that you have something called ‘carpal tunnel syndrome’. It is caused by a build up fluid in the wrist overnight. A clue that this is the cause will be that the numb feeling goes away when you shake your hand and flex your fingers, but If it is bothering you much a lot you should see your GP and get a proper diagnosis. "

sininho

A Doctor is probably your best bet I have ulner neuropothy Numbness in pinkey and ring finger left hand doc told me radial neuropothy is numbness in thumb and index and middle fingers. mine has turned out to be bone spurs from old fractures pressing on the brachial nerve. however their can be a variety of causes iam not a doctor. The one thing i know for sure having delt with a variety of nerve damage from my 29 previously broken bones is when nerve damage occurs time is of the essence. The sooner you get GOOD medical help the better your chances of complete recovery. Best of luck to you.

sininho,

I have two herniated disc, number 5 and 6, that are old football injuries and suffer with a dull ache and numbness in my left lower hand and arm. Therapy has helped but one day will probably have to have it corrected. I take Ultracet; a non-narcotic.

Just curious... where did your screen name come about?

Cary

Tks, guys, for checking. I should have written left upper (odd enough) arm and hand but anyway... I think the cold made it worse as I woke up with it and was out several times during a very humid pretty cold day. Ive always had some aches and pains in winter.

Cary, tks for the feedback. Football injuries, eh? Lets hope medicine keeps improving, right? We play soccer here and sometimes the injuries are out of the field due to fights, sad.

Sininho is Portuguese for Little Bell. Its also a translationn for Tinker Bell. Now why that is... its that on my Grandpa´s BD he heard the morning bell and got the announcement I had been born. Very special story.

tks and hugs to all

Sininho,

Great story about the name. I was trying to make sense of it and sounded it out and came up with something (not so flattering.) I felt bad that you would refer to yourself in that way.

I am pleased to hear that I was wrong.

Cary

Gee, Cary, now I wonder if I should change my nickname. I have no idea what it sounds like in other languages. Should have thought of that. Oh, dear! :O

I like your name Sininho. I find it very cute and creative. I hope you're feeling better. My sore neck and shoulder kept me home. No church this week. The hot salty bubble bath with Advil made me feel better. I also tried to massage the area to the best of my ability. It would be nice if I've had a kind gf who could do that to me.

Hope you're feeling better!

Oh, Ras, do you remember how my neighbor girlfriend massaged my neck? She was so good and tireless. I still have some pain but nothing compared to that. I dont like the cold which isnt helping, either.

I wonder if PP wants to watch you taking a bath. Frisky found his way into the bathroom through an opening on top of the bathroom door (crazy house). I got to get it closed. He then tried to balance himself on top of the rod which is only held against the wall by pressure and fell down onto the floor! Thats when I realized he had gotten in!

Frisky is a trip. He´s got a girlfriend now. Three months old, half his age. I got a little stressed since Friday but we all adapted in record time. First she suffered the swatting from F. Then she started attacking back. I gave them time out now and then (separating them b/c I needed the peace, of mind and all). After necking each other out, biting some and rolling around, she started eating from his dish! And he pulled back, what a gentleman! I already got them taking a nap taogether!

So now the deal is: F can flee (did twice) and Caquinha will bring him back mainly with her scent and his nostalgia for her. She has problems with her vocal chords but has already improved b/c she had to ask for a truce from F a few times. Shes been following me around. This is so great, my big ego forgets its b/c I feed her, thats all! Now bummy sleepy F isnt getting any truce from her. Shes always following one of us. I wonder what my dearest sis will say of this. I was worried about the costs for one cat, now two! I cant think of having to take them to the vet for check ups and all! Right now theyve been already sleeping each in their baskets (the last I checked!)

Now hear this! Am I going animal crazy? I still want a cockatoo!! Im already thinking of songs to teach it!!! And if its possible to adapt two cats to each other its possible to make them understand a cockatoo cage is off limits, so says somebody on the net.

Someone commit me right to the cucko´s nest, please!

Ras, I know you like tea. Guess what? I planted lemon grass and basil. F likes basil sauce but I mainly grown for the smell and to have as a scent inside suitcases, middle of out of season clothes.

🙂 hugs,

It could be a herniated disc in your neck and upper back. Don't see a chiropractor--see a physical therapist.

today I'm feeling better, thank God. I wear a scarf around my neck when I go out. Having a good gf in our building is a real blessing. Sadly, I don't have this privilege. Don't know why it's hard to find real genuine folks?!?

Never go out without having your neck covered with sort of wool scarf, that's what I do while we are in...summer. Isn't that funny??? Today we had rainy day.

Yes naughty PP joins me when I am in the bathtub. She sits on the edge and sometimes she even gets jealous and wants to test the water...so, she dips her furry hair in water and then....she gets angry and starts to go around in circles and I start to crack up at her. LOL Absolutely funny PP!!!! Sometimes I even bring forth a book with me and relax and read. I really love it. I think if my bath was bigger, I would have had something like coffee or drink with some cake.

whoooooooooooooohooooooooooo. So Frisky got a gf, how romantic???? They are napping together, oh boy hope they're not making love!!!

You're not alone Sini. In fact, I wish I could have a dog who gets along with PP. Sadly, dogs are not allowed. In fact, we are allowed no more than 2 kitties. I kitty is more than enough and drives me nuts, not to mention that it's costly.

OK hon, I've baked a blueberry cake and with your herb tea, that would make a lovely after supper dessert. So, please help yourself.

WD~ I think what I had is a draft from the sudden weather changes - fresh and cool - tho I was born with scoliosis and there could be some truth in what you said; but I did not exhaust myself physically lately or lift something heavy. Thanks for the tip!!!

Checked the other thread and Im glad you got your soreness checked by the doc.

Yeah, caring for pets gets costly. I gave in to the offer of a 2nd b/c of Frisky being less frisky at a point. Now he´s got someone to chase him around...

A wool scarf in the Summer, well your Summer... But I fully understand. I am always bothered by drafts especially the ones on the neck. I love the concept of a shawl!!

Let me turn off some lights and see if the kitties slow down!

hugs,
