should you report sexual abuse even if you are an adult, should you confront your abuser?

I would report the abuse and let an attorney represent me and contact the abuser.

Yes should report. If it's safe you can also confront your abuser. I wouldn't do it by myself though!

conbil,

Are you talking about a past abuse situation or one that is currently happening?

Dear Conbil,
My family has a looong history of sex abuse. Both males & females in my family, for example my brother, mother, cousin, grandma, sister, uncle, aunt, significant other, my own son. It affects not just the victim but those of us related, offspring, partners, in short it affects every relationship we will ever have. I encourage you to confront the abuser, why oh why does society as a whole continue to tolerate these people? These abusers, 9 out of 10 were unfortunately inflicted with the same advances. They should know better & it will never stop unless we take action. However, if you & another were victims let the other person voice what happened TO THEM, not you. Good luck to you

Conbil, how old are you, and what is your relation with the person being abused? The way you wrote, I couldn't tell.

Confronting the abuser is going to be very different if it's (for example) happening at school compared to happening at home.

Where is this abuse happening, and what kind is it?
