He killed your child and you do not want to judge, how can you speak to him? It takes alot of shaking to kill a child, rage is behind it, so you can forgive, but not forget, but how can you be in the same room is my question????

My question is: has he dealt with reasons for shaking the child? Has he paid the consequenses? Has he experienced torture, remorse, regret, grief, punishment, over what he did? If he has received punishment and psychological help for what he did then he may be ready to receive support from you. Another question: What is your motivation for helping him?

Chrys,

It wouldn't be just to turn your back on your brother afterall he is your flesh and blood. But, there is no getting around the fact that he took a human life. Especially that of a baby. Was it intentionl or an accident? Please let me know so I can help you decide which course of action is most appropriate.
