One of my residents is schizophrenic and does things which are, to others, obviously wrong. Is it that he knows no better or is he trying to seek attention?

RD - I have a neighbor who lives next to me who really seems to be weird, psycho.

He seems to be Narcissistic and something else weird I'm not sure of.

When I spoke once with the building manager, she told me that he IS WEIRD!!! She added that he can be physically violent and rape a woman. When I asked her how come that he is allowed to stay among us if he is like that weird personality, she said that there is No proof to condemn him or accuse him of something.

I am planning to relocate. However, I don't know how long will this take or how soon. But I am living thru the grace and protection of my HP from this man.

He is fat, ugly, narcissistic, arrogant...and moreover, he pretends to be a nice person which makes him even more disgusting.

I don't know how they allow these weird psycho people to live among us!

PS: This is not the same neighbor who produces a noise when he has sex with his gf. This is another one.

Hi RDeckard,

Chances are if he truely is schizophrenic, it's not that he is looking for attention OR that he knows no better. It's that he is sick and more than likely can't help his behavior even if he knows it's wrong.

I hope this helped.

I have a brother that is diagnoised schizophrenic. Believe it or not, he is not always conscience of what he is doing.
Examples: 1)When mowing the lawn, he will battle the tree for minutes before the concept of tree registers and he goes around it.
2)Pacing is frequent, when medications cycle down. I mean literally in circles(this used to be accompanied with giggling, but not anymore)

He is sweet and harmless, but scares some people who do not understand his illness. My family (including him) has developed a sense of humor about some of his antics. The majority of street people have some degree of Schizophrenia.

Hope this gives you some insight

Deck,

"schizophrenia" has to do with a real break from reality. What do you mean by "wrong"? Do you mean like steal or intimidate? That is probably not a schizophrenic, IMO because that kind of activity has more to do with exerting power over others and a schizophrenic is usually much more interested in self-protection than in power.

Rasputin,

What has this supposedly weird person done to you? What does "weird" mean?

Anyone can be violent or rape. That is a tragic human fact. Every one of us has the innate capacity of violence.

Unless someone is known to have commited a crime like that, or has actually made such attemtps, is it right to indulge in fantasy and then punish some innocent person because his appearance inspires scary fantasies?

Wanting to put someone out of their home just because they are fat and ugly would depopulate a lot of neighborhoods!
