I've been thinking of and praying for both of you, wondering how you are holding up...hope you didn't get too "loaded" on St. Paddy's Day 🙂

Blessings,
CM

Hello Mom!
Thanks for asking, I have been offline since 17th as I've had a few days off. I'm taking it easy as I have been for the past few days. Just giving myself some time and space. I've spoken to my last night, we talked and talked, I want to absorb it all. I know we've both been through a hell of a lot. We've both agreed to go to a counsellor.

How are you doing and how is the family?

Willit, how are you?

Revelation,

That is encouraging news, that you are able to talk...yes, you have been thru a lot...glad to learn that you are both considering counseling.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The family is doing well, we've had glorious weather here this weekend.

Blessings & hugs,
CM

Hi Coda,
How you doing? I'm ok thanks for askings off as well.

Felt very wound up on Friday after reading the thread about affairs. Got a bit disturbed about it.

I had a rough weekend and although I tried to put her out of my mind and stayed away all weekend with no contact and all that, I did the bloody stupid drive-by this morning and saw him pulling away out of the driveway at 7am! I feel a bit down but am reading "How to Break Your Addiction to a Person". I hope it helps!

Willit,

I am so sorry that you are going thru the "drive-by trauma"...boy, you are in good company on this site, it seems that there are a lot here who can relate. Don't beat up on yourself for having done so, it will take time for you to heal. I've dug out this litany on the "Portrait of Progress" by Portia Nelson that says it all:

I.

I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost...I am helpless, it isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.

II.

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I am in the same place, but, it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.

III.

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in...it's a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

IV.

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

V.

I walk down (or drive down 🙂 another street.

About the upsetting thread, I did not post in it at all...when someone makes a general statement, e.g., "All men are cheaters", it tells me that they have been hurt by someone and they need to vent. When we're deeply hurt we are not always rational.

Things got blown 'way out of proportion, it turned into a religious and then gender war. There is a proverb in the Bible that says: "If you don't put wood on the fire it goes out"...I think we as humans would sometimes rather argue than let things be. You were wise to wait until things settled down.

Anyway, glad you came back, sorry I really got long-winded here. Hope your day goes a little better.

Blessings,
CM

Coda Mom, Thank you for this analogy or litany. I studied it at the university, it is very true.
By the way, I liked your anecdote about applesauce, when you were trying to impress your hubby about your household skills. It made me laugh a lot. Thank you. I will tell Will to read that thread.

Willitgetbetter, read the thread I started "What is the most goofy thing u have ever done?" It is sooooooo funny, it'll cheer you up. We need to laugh all the time. Life is not easy. That is why we need fun and laughter.

You are in my prayers,

Rasputin

Rasputin (Sweet, wonderful person with the evil name, I loved your post, too :),

Thank you so much for starting that thread about goofy things...you were a gem...when I asked for fun input, I didn't like the direction it was taking off on so was thankful you redirected things.

Hope you are having a good day, yes, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Hugs,
CM
