Can't believe I have not seen this yet--anyone got any resolutions? Mine is to own my own stuff and not take on any more than that--that is not to do anyones part so I don't have to be hurt or frustrated by it later!

This is going to be a big year for all of us. Hopefully this will be the year we really learn from our past and put it all into perspective.

I have three resolutions:

1. No chocolate unless it’s a special occasion (birthdays, big date desserts) or an emergency (PMS).

2. No soda unless it’s mixed with alcohol.

3. Be true to myself. Start to say what I mean and mean what I say.

Happy New Year everyone!

Lose weight. I've gained at least 10# and want to get rid of it. Just sending a check to the gym every month isn't doing the trick. I actually have to go there.

Take at least 2 vacations this year.

Start dating again. (This is a big one.)

TRY to live well and be happy. Try to make new friends.

Thanks, EF.

Keep going to the gym...For those who want to lose weight, do not eat or drink anything with HIGH FRUTCOSE CORN SYRUP. Look that word up on the internet search and see where it goes in your body. Its bad stuff that is a sugar substitute and the big guys are making $ off this while you are getting fat. In 2006, I will be mentally and pysically healthy. That is my #1 goal. Then start off with my relationship.

to lose weight, to work harder, to not blow off training, to eat more healthfully, to try and not get sick so often, to save more money, to enjoy life.

Besides wanting to quit smoking....I would like to concentrate more on my finances.

I WASTE so much money, it's ridiculous. When I say that I mean things like....instead of paying .89 for soda at the market....I pay $1.59 at the store across the street, because it's convenient. I get $5 off coupons for prescriptions but I let them expire and pay full price instead. I buy coffee everday instead of making it at home, etc.etc.

I would like to be able to take nice trips and perhaps even buy my own home someday, which isn't going to happen if I keep spending foolishly. I do have a savings account and although I haven't taken from it....I also haven't added to it in almost a year!

So, my New Year resolution for 2006 will be to start spending wisely and put that extra money into the bank. And to get involved in the 401k plan available to me at work.

Not to mention I spend $10 A DAY on cigarettes....that's $70 A WEEK. Just on cigarettes! Hell, if I quit smoking....I may be able to take one of those trips by the end of the year!

Good luck to all of you in the new year!

Love,
Lolli

I'm not really one for resolutions...they tend to make me feel disappointed in myself when I don't keep them.

I'm going to try in 2006 not to let people take advantage of me...not to be a doormat. I'm getting better and better at that every year, but I still need to work on it. I think this is a typical codependent behavior, isn't it? Regardless, it has to stop because when I don't say "NO!" I end up regretting it, and then feeling angry at myself and the other person who took advantage of me.

Through a lot of legal fees, I think my ex finally realizes that I won't let him walk all over me...

I've put my foot down with my kids much more than I used to...

I finally have started telling my parents what I will and will not do...

I need to start letting my siblings know that they cannot take advantage of me simply because they all live out of town and I am here in town with my parents. They need to step up and help take care of my parents, and they can't show up at my house with their families 4 times a year and move in for 5 days unless they behave as houseguests should (and that does NOT include cleaning out my pantry for their "road trip" home, nor calling me at the grocery store to make requests that I change my dinner menu to suit their tastes, nor complaining about the price of movie tickets they paid for when I've picked up the tab for their entire visit and I make 1/4 of their salary per year!!!)

And at work, I need to say NO when the workload gets too heavy and let other people take care of their own responsibilities instead of piling it all onto me...

Wow...that's a lot of resolutions for someone who doesn't believe in resolutions!!!!!

Happy new year to all!!!

The Four Agreements by Don Miquel Ruiz
(based on ancient Toltec wisdom)

Be Impeccable with Your Word

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of the word in the direction of truth and love.

Don't Take Anything Personally

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

Don't Make Assumptions

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Always Do Your Best

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

I started to practice these agreements in 2005. Particularly two and three are challenging for me.

Thanks EF, Cool Thread

Moon & Stars,
Thanks for reminding me of Don Miguel's four agreements...They are powerful and vastly life-altering when put into effect.

My Resolutions for 2006...

-Have more goals.
-Have more FUN!!!

-LIVE & LOVE & GIVE in the present, without regret, to the best of my ability.

Carpe Diem!

My resolution is to finally muster up the courage to share my story with all of you wonderful caring people.

Well... guess I'm not brave enough just yet. Tomorrow's another day though.

Happy New Year everyone.
