My husband, who is younger than I am, goes though periods--about two months--of being an attentive, thoughtful partner. Then without warning he will go on a totally selfish binge. Driving too much, staying out all night, forgetting his responsibilities, lying. This will last about three weeks, then it's back to the other behavior. I am getting so tired of this up and down lifestyle. I don't know what to do or how to handle the situation--I have tried everything from understanding and forgiving to cold shouldering to anger to talking. Am I missing something? Any suggestions?
