Hi, I have learnt I am codependant and this websites definition certainly hits home. I am so glad to own this title as so many well meaning close people have tried giving me a label that never fitted. I knew I did not have a PRIDE issue, I knew I wasnt just in DENIAL about a Pride issue. It has always been so frustrating having people wrongly label me. I knew I had a problem, I knew what it wasnt, but had no idea what it was.

I first heard this word codependence a year ago. Had no idea what it meant but strangly knew this new word was going to somehow change my life. I started learning a bit about it and started to work out.... maybe this is me. Well no maybe at all.... I am Codependant. Codependence has been destroying every relationship I have ever had. I thought my behaviours were desireable qualities.. but they were destroying relationships and preventing me getting my real needs met.

My 2nd wife left 3 weeks ago, I am devestated.

sorry cant write any more just now.

Welcome, elet.

It's really powerful to know the true name of something. So glad that you're at the point of recognition...I can just imagine what possibilities you're beginning to see for your future.

I had my own kind of experience like yours this spring. For me, the term that names the revelation was "bodily shame". I hadn't been able to figure out just what it was back there in my life that set off a whole lot of my anxieties and behaviors in part of my present life. I had been growing and going after health, but something terrible just wasn't right, wasn't right... Wow, I was shamed, and in bodily ways! Think Abu Gharib. It's like I've finally found the wound. I finally can start to do things for its healing.

I feel like the skies have opened up. There's a long way to go with it, but getting the right name, the name with authentic connection to my life, just blew my possibilities wiiiiide open.

So let me help you celebrate your discovery because I think I know something about how big your discovery is. The name is just the sign of it, but that name will be very, very powerful to your future.

ALL best. Glad you're here.
