I had my first day of classes here. Way to break myself in by having my longest day first. Two long classes from 9:40 to 4:30. Anyway, I had a 1 hour break between classes and went to the student center to pick up the book from my first class.

I saw her coming out of the building just as I was going in. We only had enough time to look up and see that it was each other before we both just passed on by. The girl that turned me down 9 months ago.

First thing I noticed, she was alone (yes) Second thing I noticed was that she was 20 pounds heavier (ha ha) Finally I saw that she now has a face full of piercings (eww) Despite all of that. she was still pretty damn cute to me. I guess we both have a mutual agreement to never speak to each other again though. She looked just as disinterested in talking to me as I did to her. I mean come on. 3 fucking months of talking together and she wouldn't even give me a chance. How can you hate someone like this and still like them?

Ahhhh, l'amour... I'm sure that there is a biological basis, thrill of the chase and all, but still... pain in the neck. I hear ya Silence, totally sucks. I hope you have a cute girl in your next class, maybe one with a few less piercings and with an eye and an ear for cricket humor *grin*

There aren't any cute girls in my dept at school. It's a long running joke in all 3 schools I've been to. Still doesn't mean I don't try though. And they still ignore me too.

OK. So maybe not everybody. I ran into a cute girl today and we exchanged a few words before class. I'm getting better at stupid talk. I forgot to introduce myself again. Then I had to move to a different computer because mine was broken. I didn't get the chance to talk to her again. Nice to see some things never change, eh?

Ah Silence, the more things change, the more they stay the same, no? Just remember next time you see her, you have a little of the captain in ya... because Silence knows how to treat a lady... and her sister... and her friend... and her cousin... and someone she kinda knows from the gym.....

*grin*

Yeah, sure. That sounds like me. All the way.

I have an advanced script writing class and I'm thinking of using my experience with girl from the theater as a full length feature script. Of course I'm going to fictionalize half of it, but I think it makes for a nice depressing story that only I can write.

OK. Maybe I didn't have to wait until next Wednesday. The same girl showed up in my class again this morning. This time we talked for a bit in the break during class. We seemed to get along all right.

After class we were given an assignment to go through a reel of film and log in the edit points. I figured I would do it next Monday when I had no class. On the way out I saw her walk into the editing room alone. Looked like she was going to start early. I had no more classes today and figured, "What the hell?"

I joined her and we finished our homework assignment together. We didn't get to talk much during the actual work because we were constantly relaying numbers back and forth between us. She'd read off the edit points and I'd calculate how many frames per feet each segment was and then convert that to frames per second. Real fun assignment... Actually it was kind of fun. I got to look at the side of her boobs the whole time.

After we finished work I got to walk her to her garage. Just normal chat then. Used to be my garage so we got to talk about familiar stuff. I had to settle something with my current parking so we said goodbye there. I'll see her next Wednesday though.

Go me.

In the back of my mind I keep thinking that I should have asked this girl out for lunch. It was 1:00 when we got out of the editing room. We laughed a little bit when her stomach growled. Crap. I still have a lot of "should haves" in my head.

The saga rolls on...

Got to meet my editing girl (I guess that'll be her name on here) again today. This time she sat down right next to me during class. We shared what we did for our individual assignments and then we had class.

The second part of class we had to give our ideas and form 4 groups out of them for final projects. My idea was just as bad as any of the others. But when they were calling out to name the final four, the asshole in front of me suggested my idea. Now I am once again forced to lead a group of people on my crappy idea.

The guy who called out my project chose another one. It looked like I was going to be the only one in my group. Then my editing girl raised her hand and joined me. Shortly after that the other girl in the class joined my group. The other girl I've worked with last semester in a group project. Lucky me. In a group with the only two girls in the class. Now I am starting to feel like The Captain.

Next week I'm going to get one of the absent people in my group. For now though, I've stumbled through the first barrier and now have my editing girl's e-mail address.

After class I walked with her to her parking lot again. My parking lot is on the way too so that's pretty convenient. Unfortunately I had to answer the dreaded question. I'm 26. She seemed to take it well. I get to see her again Friday, so I guess I'll know for sure what she thinks then. but I think she really does like me.

I know this is all a little superficial today being 9-11 and everything, but for once I'm felling a little happy at the end of the day.

I can fix that. It wouldn't be me if I didn't manage to screw things up.

We had a pretty normal morning. it looked like we had to do another similar assignmet editing video after class. We both agreed that it would probably be good if we did it today.

We had a 30 minute break during class and we sat on a couch talking about various things. Then 10 minutes before we had to get back togehter another girl from the class plopped right down between us on the couch.

That's when deja vu hit me. This girl was reading Ender's Game. The same book that my movie theater girl was reading. It also happens to be my favorite book. I just throw out that i like the book and next thing I know we are in a full on conversation about the series and the author and lots of related things.

It's rude, but my editing girl got completely cut out of the conversation. And I didn't really like this new girl. Too mouthy and controlling.

The next part of class was just a demonstration on how to use the machines. As soon as the teacher dismissed us, my editing girl ran out of the room as fast as she could. I waited around for ten minutes, but she didn't come back. So I'll finish that homework assignment sometime over the weekend.

I know, I shouldn't have ignored her. But this other girl was at fault too. I mean, she split us apart and then monopolized me for the rest of the break. Crap.

Simple email can fix this.

"Hi Editing Girl:

Sorry we couldn't talk more today, boy that Ender's Game Chick was really talkative! I didn't have a chance to ask you if you wanted to meet up this weekend to do the assignment and maybe go get a pizza with tofu, orange peels and milk carton rings on it. Interested?

Your partner in editing and crime,
Silence"

I'd do that if it weren't for two things. One, I'm incredibly shy. And two, the Temple email accounts have been screwed up all week and nobody has been able to log on. So there's no telling when she'd get that email.

At least send the email, whether she gets it tonight or Tuesday, at least you sent it, right? And maybe bring the Lan Administrator geeks some cheetos and a diet coke to get them working faster on the problem. Geeks don't work well when they are hungry.

Those geeks don't exist. It's college. Things are supposed to not work.

I still can't send that email. I'm too nervous about that. I only have the courage to do something face to face with someone. And even then it took me a whole semster to ask the last girl out.

I'm glad your haopy for me. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly succeeding here.

And we were having such a good conversation today too. I'm sitting here watching tv and I remeber that we have the same poor taste in tv programming. Game Show network is great for wasting time when you can't sleep.

Jeez, only brave enough to do things in person? Now that's a switch! I would think email, with it's impersonal dark text on a light background with plenty of time to backspace would be much safer???

Send her some of your stories, she will be impressed.
Start some nice correspondence silence, get to know her.
Let her know you are attracted to her.
Most women arent mind readers.
Besides she was probably hurt by the episode at school where you were "monopolized"
She would be happy to hear from you, im sure. In fact she is probably EXPECTING you to send her a n email since you have her addy and because of that episode. Listen to us women, we know of what we speak.
She prob thinks you might be a "playa"
LOL
