"You go through a lot of relationships, and those relationships, for the most part — until you're ready to love and be loved — are just about trying to find direction. You find out who you don't want to be and who you don't want to be around, which lets you focus on what you're really after." -- Jim Carrey

"If there is one aspect of traditional religion that infuriates me more than any other, it is its insistence on making sex either sinful or sacred... Sex is simply (and, for humans, not so simply) a part of the natural world. It is good and pleasurable insofar as it is engaged in by partners who wish each other well, bad and painful insofar as it is an instrument of power and domination rather than a source of mutual joy." -- Susan Jacoby, author of "Freethinkers: History of American Secularism"

“I’m actually tempted to laugh,” Amaechi told The Miami Herald. “Finally, someone who is honest. It is ridiculous, absurd, petty, bigoted and shows a lack of empathy that is gargantuan and unfathomable. But it is honest. And it illustrates the problem better than any of the fuzzy language other people have used so far.” -- "out of the closet" NBA player John Amaechi, on anti-gay remarks made by NBA player Tim Hardaway

"I see the bimbo-fication of young girls all the time in my affluent suburban synagogue. Sadly, some of the brightest adolescent girls around the age of 12 suddenly try to dumb themselves down so that they can attract a boyfriend who will not be scared off by their intelligence." -- Rabbi Marc Gellman, on the death of Anna Nicole Smith

"The secret is the law of attraction: If you think positively, you become a magnet that pulls everything you want toward you." -- Rhonda Byrne, author of "The Secret", a controversial self-help book (and DVD) that has reached phenomenon status — by purporting to know "the secret" to happiness.

“I don’t think back too much because I’m so focused on the now and on the future. I think of myself as a work in progress, so I’m always moving forward by my nature." -- Keith Urban

I love to collect inspiring quotes.
Ddog, to separate things here, put < br > at the end of each line where you want to insert a line break. Only don't leave spaces between the brackets and the "br"

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye. How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye.’ When you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speak from your brother’s eye.”

Littlespirit,

Thank you again. I have just now - being so inspired by your post - been able to materialize it!!!

I went into Powerpoint - and at the top of the page - copied - 4 times...all across the top - a B/W clip art pic of a train on it's tracks stopped at a stoplight.....then the caption: "If I Always Do What I've Always Done.....(in smaller italic:)I Will Always Get What I Always Got."

In the bottom right hand corner - I inserted another clip art B/W pic of a girl standing (and wondering) in front of a traffic-like sign which depicted "Cross Roads Ahead."

I have printed it out and have it posted in my office right now!!!!

Littlespirit, Your post was such a great inspiration. Thank You Soooo Much!!!!!!!!!

(((((HUGS)))))))

🙂
