I discovered my W's A about a month ago. We are working on our relationship. It will take time and that's going to be difficult.

When my wife and I are together, things are generally very good. When we are apart (at work etc..) I feel overwhelmed with pain and mistrust.

We are making progress ... slowly. I'm still not sure where we will end up.

I've started going to Al-Anon meetings and that has helped tremendously.

I am happy that you are making progress have you thought about coupples counseling that might also help. And continue to take it slow like the old saying goes anything good is worth waiting for. I hope all goes well

Hey there Robert - what steps has she taken? I'm glad you're helping yourself, but in order for the relationship that you love so dearly to work, she needs help as well. I'd hate to see you just dragging her along in your own recovery, while she has a good day here and there, with no step towards her own recovery. It takes two to tango (as we all know), and she doesn't seem to want to put her dancing shoes on? Good job, Robert on getting yourself to a meeting - I'm glad it's helping. Take care.

Progress might be slow but it is progress. This is going to take a lot of time. Allow and know this when you feel that it is slow. Think a year from now, you will be in totally different place, no matter what the outcome is. Life is progression. Be patient and understanding and it will be worth it.
