A few weeks ago I posted a rather long thread about a coworker who's been very problematic the past almost 3 years he's been here. Most of that time he worked in my department and despite complaints to my manager and then subsequently his managers after he was transferred out, for some reason they refused to do anything up until they suspended him for screaming obscenities at someone on his cell phone... at his desk... in front of everyone.

Even then they let him back in and said as long as he did counseling he could have his job. This really got a lot of people upset as for one he was ALREADY in counseling and it didn't do squat, for another he'd been creating a hostile environment for so long that this was kind of too little too late.

Well, the ordeal is finally over. Management just sent out an announcement that he's been walked out of here. He's had his badge taken and he's no longer allowed access to the building unless a manager on our contract explicitly approves it... and I suspect Hell will freeze over before that occurs. Who knows what happened but in some ways it doesn't matter because everyone knows he would always go back to pulling something. Personally I'm absolutely convinced he was a sociopath of the abrasive variety.

I had a feeling something was up along those lines when I saw him being escorted by a manager out the door that leads to the front of the building behind me. A few minutes later I saw my former lead's wife (also a manager) walk out the same door with a box full of stuff, giving me a knowing look. I then turned and saw our in-house LAN guy fiddling with his computer. Later on one of the other admin assistants noticed he was standing out in the parking lot with the box at his feet, probably waiting for a ride (he totalled his car a few months ago).

So, that's it... have to say the drama with which it took place was extremely minimal in proportion to all the trouble he caused here for almost 3 years. In the meantime, here's hoping and praying all of our jokes about him going postal remain in the humor department.

Thanks h-gal 🙂 I was able to get some more details from my former lead, who works on another contract now and we're pretty good friends. Sort of a "You never heard this" exchange... he filled me in on what his wife told him.

I won't go into detail, but I am pretty sure if this guy argues he was unfairly fired the corporate lawyers are going to laugh him out on his bum. He really did a stewpid thing, especially since he knew he was on notice and being watched.

Hubby also works the same contract as me and when I told him he said everyone on his shift witnessed it. So a lead on that shift and another guy wrote letters to the management, and that was that.

Personally there's even a part of me that thinks this guy sort of wanted to get booted. His behavior was SO blatant that if it wasn't then either he has some major mental issues or he's been sniffing something to fry his brain to a crisp.

Oh yes, I remember it chick...you had really had enough of it!!!

Well, looks like he's pressed that self-destruct button huh? It sounded to me like he had some real issues...maybe with this event he might realise it and go get some help to deal with it!
