Sleep evades me, cannot settle down
the innerbeing is alive and pondering
this or that; what will solve the problem
that is prevalent on my soul.

Peace is the goal of which my heart
pursues among the complexities of life
that are presented like arrows flying
directly upon oneself in battle.

Searching for the correct path through
the winding maze of books, counseling,
drugs, and advice while reaching dead
ends and finding strength to start over.

Forgetting to look to God for guidance and
strength needed for this journey necessary
for survival and self-discovery of the life
cluttered with pain, shame, and worry.

I'm having problems with this new keyboard. I'm pressing wrong buttons and my unfinished letter disappears. This is my third try so I'll be very careful.

I wanted to say that I like your poem. I like the line, reaching dead ends and finding paths to start over. Well, the whole thing rings true. Last verse too.

I like to journal and write but I sometimes get tired of that way of expressing myself so I'll try to write a poem. Poems leave things more open to fill in, as each individual sees it. It makes a person think more. I don't know, that's how I see it.

ditto on the poem; they also help me to explain my feelings using similes, metaphors, etc.

Sometimes they just pour out of myself. Most are written in less than 3 minutes. I guess they are a release.
