I have to be out of my current place by noon on August 31st. And I still haven't found a new place to live yet.

The job I have, one that I got almost two months ago, is a call center job that doesn't pay very much, but which has okay benefits. They have been training me since the middle of June, and many days working on the phones can be very stressful. The call center is very strict about punctuality, and demands that when one is scheduled to work, they be at their desk at all times except for breaks and lunch. Everything is timed to the minute. We are not allowed to take more than a minute to write memos in between calls so there is no time to relax; it is very fast-paced. The job doesn't suit me at all, but I need the money.

I've been applying for other jobs, government ones that pay twice what I'm earning now, and getting one of those would be a godsend. So far I haven't heard anything on those positions.

About the moving situation.... I am in a city virtually alone, with my father in a nursing home here and no friends to lend support. Trying to find a new place to live, to line up movers, and pack a two-bedroom apartment is really difficult. More so since I'm disabled and can't do much. The apartments here are terribly expensive, and would take over half my take-home pay every month just for rent. I work in a place which is not easily accessible by bus, as it's several kms outside the city itself and the only nearby places are single-family homes.

Please send some good thoughts my way, that I might find a decent place and be able to line up some volunteers to help me pack and move. The call centre has me working weird hours, with overtime on top of that, and it doesn't give me much time to find a new place. I really believe that good wishes help... it was after I asked for good wishes the last time, in June, that I got this job.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm a hardworking person and get lost of burnout syndrome. Keep looking for a another job, but don't quit b4 you line up another job. As for housing, have you applied for housing coops, they are non-profit organization that have economy and affordable prices. They really offer good service, somehow safe for a single lady and we are allowed to have no more than 2 kitties. I really love them. They keep you busy with all those meetings, journal writing, gardening, parties etc. I like them and plan to stick to them even when I relocate.

(((Hugs & Prayers)))
