It is possible you have experienced a reaction to continual external stimuli, (sound etc.)during your brain's formulative years. Your vision might be a reaction to an action, or sound, designed to provoke a visual reaction. I have seen actual unusual flying objects (being followed by REAL flying objects(jets and helicopters)) not provoked by external conditioning (and paid a social price for saying so). However, I believe that visions of surreal objects, or beings, can be brought on by covert hypnosis techniques, followed by a later stimulus, to provoke the visual sensation. (Have you ever seen people under hypnosis during a hypnosis show, one put on for entertainment?) The human mind is cabable of great, GREAT, feats. Do not discount any unknown phenomena. This visions do not make you crazy, or abnormal. Consider the possibility of the real, and the complicity and machinations of your society. Don't worry about going off the deep end, depth is where the truth lies.

A.O.
i cannot give you a scientific explanation, somethings are not to be explained. I saw what I saw, no hypnosys, over stimulation, chemicals or anything ... it was what it was. I do not feel crazy or abnormal at all.

anyway, have you seen any ghosts? where did you see the flying objects? were they UFOs?

Once when I was a little girl and was staying at my grandmas house I was in bed and I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a round white cloud coming towards me. I was so scared and pulled the covers over my head until morning, I never saw it again.

I am actually reading a book now on all this sort of thing.. By Sylvia Brown, titled Phenomonon. It takes all the terms from A to Z that are of the paranormal and spirit world phenomonon and defines them. It has been really interesting, makes you think about a lot.. blows your mind!

This happened to me a few times...and just lately I've been feeling uneasy at night too...during the summer a few times I woke up at night and saw shadows passing, one night I woke up when I heard a very loud rat-a-tat on the bedroom door and as I woke and looked at the door out of the corner of my eye I was sure I saw a dark shadow pass from the door to the other side of the room and out the window...really wierd. This also happened when I was a teenager, just before I was about to OD on some sleeping tablets I look up and there was this grey shadow looking down at me. Scared me enough to get my ideas of suicide out of my head.

I'm inclined to think that whether it is from another world or not, its sort of a warning sign that we are dangerously stressed out...I feel scared when I first see it but then when it dissappears I feel so calm and sleepy! I sleep deeply after I've seen it. I'm not sure if its something good which is warning us to take it easy, or something bad which is attracted to us because we are distressed....not sure, but thanks for this, because I tend to dismiss it as my imagination when I see it.

When I was 15, my folks moved into a 130 year old house. Till then we had always lived in newly built homes.

My sister and I were immediately aware of a presence. I never "saw" but heard it, and once was awakened by a touch on the side of my face. I thought it was my mother, who does this to say goodnight, but there was no one there.

My mother believed us but my stepfather didn't. We all thought of the spirit as female. And ornery, but not mean.

Now, 30 years later - my stepfather, 83, and deaf as a post, is complaining of being awakened at night by the sound of furniture moving. My mother told him, laughing, "Had you just believed, she probably would have let you die in peace!"

I have also seen what I would describe as vapors in other old houses I have lived in, or visited.

I have had this "explained" to me as projection of fear, but I reject that because I have never been afraid of these things- only curious. I think some people have thinner "barriers" than others.

Sometimes I am awakened in the night for no reason I can determine and I will see a shimmering - much like when heat rises up from asphalt. Has anyone ever experienced that?

Never saw a ghost but felt one, lived off college campus with roommate, guess it didn't like her, the apartment would turn ice cold when rm entered, others had noticed it too, otherwise, the apt. would be comfortable, kind of warm, cuddly. I would turn on burners to heat water for coffee or tea, go take a shower and rm would ask why I turned on different burners than the one under the kettle. But that was nothing at all like the "dark beings". Seen those and they just give me chills. I think my xh and I saw two UFOs once, I was surprised...he was scared silly.

i had an experience that i cannot explain to this day but it is not like the ones that have been previously described on this thread. but while i was growing up my mom worked third shift and she would come home after we left for school and sometimes due to after school practices she would leave for work and we would not see her at all that day but she would always call in the evening and so many times she would tell me of a dream she had from my perspective of a conversation i had during the day and it was something that had actually happened that day. also when i was 16, we hadn't seen or heard from my older sister for months and i woke up one morning with the thought of her weighing on my mind, but i went off to my summer job and when i came home i still had her on my mind so i went through my mom's phone book and tried to get a hold of all my sisters relatives (we are half sisters, but grew up together) and because it was in the middle of the work day i was not able to reach anyone. i laid down for a nap and had a horrible dream of my sister's boyfriend hurting her and that she need the $500 dollars that she had been saving that he had blown on drugs because they were going to be evicted the next day and the phone ringing woke me up and it was sister saying that she needed $500 dollars. It happened one other time I had a dream i was at work in the kitchen where i waited tables and i was filling up a basket of rolls and i looked down and another waitress i had never seen before had on the same pair of shoes i had just bought and i told her so. i didn't think much of it until the next weekend when i was in the same situation and looked down and girl that had just been hired had on the same shoes i had just purchased. i have never really talked about this except to my best friend and she just laughed. this hasn't happened to me in years.

Sometimes it's not a good thing to bring out your "psychic gifts" more--it can cause more trouble than it's worth. I've always had "visions" and dead people coming to me (that are significant to my life)--it's creepy some times and other times it's calming. Just let it do whatever it's going to do--it's that whole "go with the flow" kind of thing.

Rev, I know that i am very intuitive about what people are feeling and gauging the mood of a room and I always thought it was because i grew up with an unmedicated bi-polar parent and had to for survival. but the dreams i guess are something else what do you mean about trying to bring it out more?
