Hey, MJ! There's coffee made inside by the fireplace. Help yourself! 🙂

GG, Yeah, I'm afraid there are bears around. Just take the gun, and you'll be fine! Enjoy your walk!

bonnie, there is a hammock on the end of the porch, go for it and inhale the fresh air! What is for dinner? Who is cooking? I am being lazy on this trip, hope it is okay...

I'm coming along...if for nothing else but the PEACE AND QUIET. Right now I'm listening to my son's stereo, the dishwasher, the neighbor's leaf blower, a TV, and my daughter's IM'ing noise! Now they are arguing!!! I need some QUIET! Anyone mind if I just sit in a rocker and don't say a word?

Readyforchange, I'm glad you're here, Hon!! Just sit back and breathe in the fresh air and peace and quiet! That's what this trip is all about.

GG, we'll have to go out aways for target practice. I don't want the noise to disrupt the peace, here.

We'll just line up some cans along the fence, and I'll teach you how to shoot!

I've got to run for a bit. My daughter and I are getting are nails done before she leaves. I'm feeling kind of sad right now, but I know this will all be ok. I'm here at this cabin this weekend to reflect and gain some peace in the things I have NO control over!

See ya' in a bit...

I think I'll sit in my chair with a good book by the lake and do a little fishing. When that's done, I'll go for a nice long walk through the pretty trails and then chill out in the rocking chair on the porch and enjoy the nice Autumn fresh air and the awsome view of all the pretty colors.

bonnie, aren't we in some secluded setting? Are you taking Buck into town to pick it up?

shyshy: that sounded relaxing just reading what you wrote

jen: I don't want you to mess up those pretty nails, trying to teach me to shoot. Don't know if I am ready for a gun or a horse...city girl wuss here...

You can take a walk up back, gg. There's a well-marked path about a mile long and a brook where the water is sooo cold and pure you can drink it straight from your hands. If you walk a ways farther there's a lake. Someone rigged up a sort of bench there for sittin' and watchin' and that is where the waterbirds collect. So bring a knapsack with a hot thermos of something and a sandwich (some kind of crumbs for the ducks).

I brought a big crockpot of stew and crusty hard rolls and cheese. Who wants to play a board game? There's a giant half-done puzzle over on that cardtable if anyone wants to work on it.

Don't mind my old dog Jo. She's too old to run off, but sometimes you have to go help her up and down the steps. She'll kind of bitch at you for whatever she wants. She's happiest ON the couch. If you leave her there alone too long she'll gripe at you until you come over and pet her.

Poor ready. Audio overload. All I can hear is one boring owl tonight.

Wow, this food looks sooo good!! I'm diving in, can't hold back any longer!

That puzzle looks interesting, Brynnie. What is it of? I can see it has lots of colors. Maybe it's a rainbow of some type.

Travlin_lite, thank you for joining us! Yes, it has been a relaxing kind of day! Haven't had one like this in a while, so it was well needed.

Well, all, my daughter will be leaving in a while, from this nest she's been living in for 18+ years now. I'm a little restless about this and feeling some anxiety about it. So I think I'll hit the hot tub for a while, to try and relax for when the moment arrives, that we take her to the bus station. Say some prayers. I have a feeling I'll need them! 😉

When our first child went off to college I was so busy....it wasn't until the 2nd fall that he and his dad and his "stuff" rolled out the driveway and I sat down on the front steps and bawled for about 15 minutes sraight. Good grief.

I never anticipated that feeling till it conked me in the head.

I'm pretty sure the puzzle is a rainbow.

Yes, Brynnie, It's an overwhelming feeling.

My daughter is going with her boyfriend. They plan to stay with his father temporarily.

While I don't agree with this idea, I feel maybe it'll be the only way for her to learn and experience some things in life that I can't get thru to her myself.

She's a good kid. She still has her Scoobey toothbrush and her Scoobey blanket. Ohhhh boy, I can feel the waterworks coming on now!

My other daughter, (her twin), is having a very hard time right now. She's been crying off and on all day. My youngest daughter, who is only a year behind them, is off with her boyfriend who is in town visiting. I think she is trying to avoid feeling emotional. Because usually with her, once it hits her, it doesn't stop.

Wow, ok, deeep breaths here and BACK to the hot tub!!

Thanks for listening. And if I'm correct, I do believe I'm seeing a pot of gold at the end of that tunnel on the puzzle!! 😉

LOL, I meant to say a pot of gold at the end of the "rainbow"!! Woops! But yes, there IS light at the end of the tunnel, too! (It must be the "other" puzzle I saw! LOL!)

(((Soulsister))) Hugs to you, too, Sweetie!

I just saw my daughter off on the bus. It was 1:00am in the morning. It is now 2:16am, and I'm just now starting to breath again.

I'm afraid I made a bit of a scene at the bus station. Just with all of my blubbering, and following her in the line until she reached the door. I watched her walk away with her Scoobey Doo pillowcase stuffed with all of her carry on stuff. I tried to watch her all the way until they finally shut the doors to the building. Then I just stood there and bawled some more. I turned around and realized how much attention I had attracted, and a couple of women begin to console me that they've been there, and that she'll be back.

Wow, I'm I tired!! Crying always wipes me out!! I'll probably be sleeping in tommorrow morning. But first, I think I'll hit that hot tub just ONE more time!!

Thanks, my good and wonderful friends, for being here with me for times like this, and even when there aren't times like this happening. I'm just happy to have found this place!

Have a wonderful night and a GREAT morning!!

OK OK OK Everybody UP!!!

Ya da da daa daa, da da da daaaaaaaaaa, da da da daaa daaa daaa daaa duh uh uh!

Strictly for the people who wake up early this is. Any sleepyheads are being respected.

Coffee -- great big thermo cups of it and chunky warm sweaters and jackets and we're shuffling our way up to the lake spot so we can watch the sun rise.
