i'm ok. looking forward to going shopping this weekend so i can by good foods.

i kinda have to eat the bad foods i already have because i cant afford to throw it all out. but luckily i buy on a weekly basis.

yesterday i went home not feeling good. i drank water all day and just couldnt quench my thirst. i also didnt bring enough for lunch and was starving by the time i went home. had a big headache for the last few hours of work and just couldnt wait to go home.

went to bed early - slept and slept.

i'm feeling kinda down...

i'm feeling overwhelmed at work. i cant wait for the long weekend. i actually have some plans - my sister - for the first time in her life INVITED me to spend the day with her and my neices on saturday. then sunday, i get some time with my mom while she helps me balance a check reg. and monday im going to the make up softball game.

just gotta get through the next 2 days.

Oh robbie, don't ever be overwhelmed. Its takes time but we are here for you. I am M the motivator. Hehe. What are you feeling overwhelmed about? If you can go for a ten minute walk today or tommorrow and just enjoy it. Don't think about the pace or how many calories you are burning. Just try to enjoy the outdoors.Maybe that will help. Let us know though and yes we will be posting here for you. If you ever want to start your own thread so that it won't have as many posts, I will keep my eye out for you.

robbie...that headachy feeling is something I get when I don't eat enough. Perhaps keep a granola bar or some type of nuts in your desk...I find they ward off my headaches. Almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds are all good for you.

Don't worry about jumping full force...sometimes you have to wean yourself off of the junk...that may be where your headache is coming from....the lack of caffeine and sugar in the soda.

So, go slow...it's not a race...it's a change of lifestyle and you are free to take your time.

As for the weekend, sounds like your family is noticing...it sounds like a great weekend planned.

Is mom going to the softball game with you?

one of my problems - i hate to admit is self control. i love granola and nuts and if i eat just a few i cant stop. its like i get addicted - like its some kind of drug or something. so when i get that stuff, i always end up eating all that i got. so i dont get it that often. if its not there, i cant have it kinda thing. i even tried dividing it out into snack baggies - like 12 nuts in a bag - but then i just kept taking the little bags. im soooo emabarassed to tell you this - but its the truth.

I have the same problem with granola and nuts and all that so here is what I do. They make these yogurts that have a small bit of granola in the top. If you buy two or three of those. its a really good way to control portions. Just out of curiosity, how much sodium do you get because if you have too much, it can cause you to get that feeling of never being able to quench that thirst. Then you get dehydrated and its bad. Dehydration can lead to nausea and headache as well as hot and cold sweats. That may be part of it. Another part is, although water is fantastic, you may ot be getting enough electrolytes. Gatorade has a ton of calories so you don't want that but Fruit water and odwalla life water are really good. Don't replace the water with this fruit water but get 1 small fruit water in the morning and one at night. Especially when you are doing any sort of activity.

and if you are going from drinking soda and coffee all day to just water, you are bound to go thru a detox...which can cause migraines and such.

excedrin migraine has caffeine in it, and helps with those types of headaches.

as for "bingeing"...the first step is admitting you have a problem...and I have the SAME problem...I have no control.

I could be jonesing for something sweet, go into store, get ice cream, topping, cookies, milk, stuff for strawberry shortcake, regular cake, donuts, etc...and TELL MYSELF that I am going to eat in moderation.

Then go home and in the course of the next few days, eat nothing but the junk.

My bingeing comes from childhood...when my brother and I would "compete" for food...I didn't want HIM to have the last package of pop tarts...or the last box of sugar cereal...so I would often sneak stuff so he couldn't have it...if we were allowed one ice cream bar a day, I would sit in the basement and eat two or three, and hide the wrappers...when I babysat, I used to raid the parents fridge and eat all the junk stuff...I was really out of control.

It's better now...last night I only had a handful of cookies instead of the whole package...but my stomach won't accept a ton of food right now...so I know I have limits...otherwise, I would eat a whole sleeve of cookies with a ton of milk.

I think my binging habit started because I used to dance for a long time and I was incredibly disciplined and stick thin and in the best shape but then I was injured and had to quit dance and when I did, all the discipline went out the door. Thank god I at least remembered what it was like to be in shape cause it was a real motivation.

Well, I know you won't be posting but I will tell you my guilty confession. Cookie dough heated up slightly in the microwave with a glass of milk. I used to eat a whole tube. haha.
