rising this is mainly for you since you know some of my family situation as well.

i had this great idea. at my next appointment august 29th, if i meet my goal of losing 7-10 pounds, i would reward myself with a day off from work.

not only that, but i asked my mother if she would take a trip with me to the beach. i havent been to the beach in years and years.

in fact, for the past 4 years +, since i had a falling out with my best friend of 15 years, i havent really had any kind of vacation/fun thing because i have no friends to go with and my family isnt in to that stuff.

well, the other weekend, i heard my 3 yr old nephew was going to my brothers summer house (with my parents) so he could go to the beach. when i asked my sister what she was doing over the weekend, she said going to my brothers too. i was a little hurt i wasnt invited. the next day they showed me the pictures of all the fun they had. i really felt like i missed out.

anyway - i am soooooo excited - my mother said yes, and that it is possible she wont have my nephew that day too.

i would love some quality time with my mom. it would be our special day. this would be the best reward i could ask for if i meet my goal.

congrats...you know - EVEN IF - you don't get to the pound goal - I would reward yourself anyway.

cuz you have done SO WELL at sticking to this and seeing it thru.

I know you had setbacks, but you pushed thru it and keep up with it instead of giving up.

so I think that you should reward yourself for sticking with it...not just for the weight loss.

thanks rising - i'm glad i have a nutritionist to report back to tho, because i think i would give up if it werent for that.

btw - regarding my cleaning, i decided a lot of it was that i was just being lazy.

so when i got home yesterday, for some reason i started with my computer room. spent about 2 hours going thru stuff - some of which went in a garbage bag.

papers an the like went in a plastic basket.

objects i wanted to hold onto went in a storage bin.

i didnt finish - but i made progress.

do they have a disclaimer about not returnable?

some places are more liberal about it...as they have "liners" in the crotch now that make it sanitary to try them on.

and you can always try it on with underpants too.

I dunno if you can alter it.

If it's a swim dress style, it may not matter, as it's flowy...and maybe just a safety pin under the arm to keep the breast area a little more snug...or a tshirt over it if you have to. In this day of people being more weary of sun protection, a shirt over it is not unreasonable.

I can't believe how much you are "growing" - and stepping outside your comfort zone.

I remember not too long ago that you were worried about being seen in a swimsuit and now you are braving out for a day at the beach and maybe the pool.

GOOD FOR YOU.

I hope you enjoy it...cuz swimming is GREAT exercise for people with fibro...and when you are having a flare up, relaxing in the pool is VERY theraputic.

I am sure that it will be fine even if it's a little big.

tankini tops can afford be loose like a regular tank top.

and swim shorts may not be bad if they are loose - you can use a safety pin if they are at risk of falling down - be sure to use a baby diaper pin tho...I have had alot of problems with regular safety pins popping open on me and poking me in the skin - so you don't want that happening!

I think you are on the right track...I am proud of your progress!

you encourage me to want to do better too.

actually. im hoping its not too tight. i ordered a 1x.

Guess what? i met a lady out on the track today. i had already been around twice when she came on and caught up to me.

i struck up a conversation with her and found out she works down the road and lives in the same town as me.

i ended up doing 4 laps today and told her im usually out there at 12.

holy cow batman...you are growing by LEAPS and BOUNDS.

it wasn't too long ago, you were asking how to make friends...and now, look at you!

I even notice you posting here on other threads.

amazing.

having a walking buddy is ALWAYS a boost, as it motivates you to do more than you would alone.
