I've gotten to the point of knowing I can't spend all my time w/my lover, but I only have like 2 friends. They are really busy so I only see them every 2 months. I am doing things by myself but sometimes I would like to be with others also. Don't know what to do? Have any advice?

Online clubs are nice. Real people from all over the world to talk to. Chances to go visit and see the place. You can also get involved with volunteer work, sports groups, more. What are your interests? What moves you or has meaning to you?

Yep...sports classes, like yoga or martial arts or even joining a gym are great ideas. Local clubs, online groups, counseling support groups, community education courses, book clubs, there is plenty out there you just gotta get up and go!

I was thinking about volunteering at the spca. I love animals that would be interesting to me. I know i can make many excuses, I just procrastinate sometimes...and get a little nervous doing things by myself

That's understandable. I used to be afraid to go places alone, I mean, really really terrified. The key is finding something that you want to do enough that the nervousness factor doesn't matter nearly as much as how much you want to do it. For me, I got over that anxiousness by taking a job that forced me to travel for business alone 5 days a week. I was always seeing new places, and I got over it pretty fast. That's kind of an extreme way to go about it, but I guess my point is that you get over the nervousness by trying it. The SPCA thing is a GREAT idea, I've found that "animal people" are some of the most geniunely nice (and interesting/fun) people around! Have fun!
