I had a horrid dream lastnight. It seems silly now but at the time it was so so real infact it was so real to me that I woke up crying. I had a dream that It was time for me to give birth but instead of having a baby I gave birth to self regenrating frogs. In my dream I remember saying were is my baby that I carried I want my baby. It sounds stupid but when I woke up my husband had to reasure me that I was infact carring a baby. I just hope taht I have a better nights sleep this time

RW, Dreams are never silly when they frighten you. Caring questions: How are you feeling? How is your relationship w/your dad over the job situation for your husband? Are you doing okay financially? I am not being nosey, just care...

Dear Random,

Don't you just hate those bizarre dreams??? It's been so long ago, but when I was pregnant I had a really crazy dream about this baboon-like creature perched in my rubbertree houseplant. It was such a malevolent thing. It glared at me, climbed down and defecated right on my dining room floor, defiantly, and then climbed back up into the tree and glared at me again. I remember hating the thing and feeling it watching me as I cleaned up its mess.

I could not forget the dream, and not long after a friend I told about it got an interpretation going.....she said the tree represented the new life I was anticipating (baby) and the baboon the primitiveness and the regression back to basics (Day One)that a woman does when she bonds with the brand new infant.

I'm no dream interpreter by any means. I just think it's interesting how they represent some of the thoughts running through our minds and how hard our subconscious works (during our precious sleep hours!) to make sense of all our feelings.

So what do self-regenerating frogs mean to you??? Do they signify the never-ending cycle of life

I dont know whats up with the whole frogs thing but I understand the baby part of it. I have been afraid that my baby wont be normal eventhough all the tests show taht he is

Self regenerating?
Like, did you try to kill the beastie and it just kept coming back?

Being afraid about abnormalities is completely normal - I don't know any women I've ever talked to who HASN'T had a scary dream at least ONCE during their pregnancies.

Now, don't get me wrong, I've never been pregnant, but from what I hear, it seems to me that most of the paranoia about it is a sort of premature guilt... an almost "Oh, I couldn't even do THIS right.. The one basic function I was born to do!"...

As for being afraid, if all the tests show that your child is fine, then the best you can do is relax and take care of yourself.. And even if something WERE to go wrong ((knock on wood)), theres nothing you could do to prevent it at this point.

...
Crap... I lost my train of thought...
