How in the world - when I am accustomed to going at warp speed all my life suppose to understand the terms, "going slow", "take your time", "get to know each other". I spend so much time making certain that I am not reacting from the Codie standpoint. I escaped the ex boyfriend knowing he was going to be the jerk that he was - and HE WAS. Now, I like a new person that I have never touched (not rebounding - did that already) and trying to keep the Codie issues at bay.
ARGH! In recovery for life!

Keeping the Codie issue at bay is a life time process, so I am learning.

I guess my answer to your question is to realize that "your worth it".

Your worth taking the time you need before falling for the next person and getting caught up in the same old cycle.

Your worth learning the new tools that are nesscary to keep your the Codie issues at bay.

Your worth taking the time to read the books, go to the support group, or just taking the time to think through the next step.

Your worth allowing your self to feel upset, get angry, feel like you have grown, or just have that feeling of quite sernirity.

Your worth it !! Your worth it !!
Your worth it!!

So yes Argh !! to it being a process,
and no answers or quick fixes.

But a great big OH Yeah !! to Recovery and growth, and inner peace and to saying YOUR WORTH IT !!!

Thanks for letting me share,

tb

Ok so you like this person and your worried about your codie behaviors affecting this relationship, possible.

Doe this other person have an interest in you as well?

Have you been on any dates?
