Wow what a wake up call I need to get into shape yesterday my 4 year old asked me if I was pregnant. Which I am not. I understand that he doesn't know better he is only 4 but it still hurt. I explained to him that it is best not to ask people that question but now I am trying my best to loose weight. I am 5 11 and I weigh 224. I cried and cried my stars. But now I am ready to do something about it.

Randy

I am 5'3", and several years ago, my weight had climbed to 197. I started a diet and that first week was excruciating, but I lost 3 lbs. I went to walmart wearing my big long shirt and leggings to shop for some curtains, and saw the principal's secretary from my high school. I hadn't seen her since I had graduated 15 years before. As we were talking, she looked at my stomach and asked me, "When is your little one due?" I was appalled! Here I thought I was skinny- so proud of losing those 3 lbs. I told her,"Oh, I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat!" She backed her cart out of that aisle as fast as she could. I went home and cried for an hour.

I'm sorry the little guy said that to you. It does hurt.

could he know something you don't????

I have heard of children knowing these kinds of thing.

otherwise, understand that your son is sooooooo young, and that for 9 months your belly WAS due to a baby coming...and that's what he knows.

It was good you took the opportunity to talk to him about manners and such...but I really wouldn't take it too personally.

Mind you, prior to getting pregnant, I was 219 lbs and only 5'5"...so I am POSITIVE that your belly is not really much at all...and that given your height, you probably don't look bad.

Baby weight is hard to lose...cuz yourself some slack and try not to let it get you down.

I have gotten asked this a few times this year by my kids at school. On one hand you want to slug them, on the other......

Rising, I think that it is so funny that you say that. After I had my son, I went back to teaching school--k-5 music kids. In March of the same school year, the kids asked me if I was pregnant. I told them no, I had my baby already.

Two weeks later, I found out I was three months pregnant with my daughter.

Yes, they sometimes do have a sense of that.

It would be a miracle if I was since I had a tubal ligation after my last one was born. My exercise came to a screeching halt today. I twisted and tilted a vertebrae in my very low back today I saw the chiropractor and he fixed it but he says that the spasms will continue for the next few days. I am supposed to be on a modified bed rest but its impossible with 3 kids. Damn Im hurting right now.

In Jan of 2006 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabtes. My blood gluclose level was 598!!!! Normal is in the 90-100, people have died from their level being so high.

I am 5'10" and weighted 192 lbs. at the time. I was put on insulin and that scared me to death. I went on a diet, wateched everything I ate, and drank, and lost down to 122 lbs. Too much in just 7 months, so he hospitalizes me. I am now at 136 lbs, and no loger on insulin, just pill.

I have been skinny at 115 lbs, and large at 232, smaller is nicer, but do it the right way, and do not listen to what anyone says, do what your body says.

Yeah- I usually start out with a vengeance, too. Be careful sugar! 2 lbs a week is healthy, and work slowly toward an exercise goal.

I am big on reading books. I read novels for pleasure and self helps to try to get my head straight. One of the books I found was Body Clutter, but Marla Cilley (the Flylady) She talks about the "clutter" in your head causing the "clutter" on your body. A good portion of the book encourages you to journal and face food issues. Why is mac and cheese your comfort food. Why you crave chocolate. I did a lot of self discovery. Some of us come from alcoholic backgrounds so we won't be like our mothers our drug of choice is food. The problem is an alcoholic can go cold turkey and never touch alcohol again. Everyone has to eat.
