yesterday i put him out of the house because he threatetened to hit me, he said he was joking, but he has said it before, and we were arguing. he is not on the street, he is staying with his girlfrien`s family. I feel as though I have failed him because he does not recognise boundries, he thinks he should have every thing he asks for and not have to do anything to earn it.He thinks a job will come looking for him. Any way i try to help him is described as not knowing what i am talking about, and things have changed since i was young. He refuses to listen, and is not learning by the mistakes he makes. I am so worried about him, but felt if i made a firm stand it would make him think, instead i think i just pushed him away, and he will not benefit, it will just cause him to be even more angry, negative, and mixed up. I would appreciate other parent`s views please

Dear ellis,
I know how hard it is to raise a boy to a man. Most of them think they know more than us by the time they have their peer group and girlfriend. Some times I wonder how my child become a man just like his father who hardly listen to me. However more I try to tell him about the responsibility about life I sense he runs into more trouble. So now I give up to be his mother but adopt my doctor's advice "Treat him as your friend". What my doctor means friend always istrens, but never give right advice. I laughed when she said it but it worked with me and my son. I wish your son knows who is the best friend he has in this world!!!!!!
