These are the songs I have been listening to repeatedly for empowerment. Does anyone else have any to share?

Why Do You Have to Be So Hard to Love - Bryan Adams
Believe - Cher
Strong Enough - Cher
Takin' Back My Heart - Cher
I Need a Lover - John Mellencamp
Cold Cold Heart - Norah
If It Makes You Happy - Sheryl Crow
Give Me One Reason - Tracy Chapman

I love:

- Honey you all my shining star don't you go away.

- I can't stop loving you baby...

- How sweet it is to be loved by you.

- I am having a party, a party for 2

And all my Codependency will be enhanced and continue as long as I listen to all these not less than anything but Romantic songs.

Yes honey, they do empower me. But, I also become codep!

I am trying to stick with ones that only empower me to move on, but I have a list like yours, too, and I like all of your songs!

I did not realize that my list was not a list. Does HTML work in here?

*Why Do You Have to Be So Hard to Love - Bryan Adams

Believe - Cher

*Strong Enough - Cher

*Takin' Back My Heart - Cher

*I Need a Lover - John Mellencamp

*Cold Cold Heart - Norah Jones

*If It Makes You Happy - Sheryl Crow

*Give Me One Reason - Tracy Chapman

That's good Whatthebleep that you are selective so that you avoid falling backward.

I love music so much. Oh, you had me cry now. Unfortunately, I have been sticking for codep reasons to romantic music most of the time.

I commend you on your choice. You go girl!!!

Here is another one that makes me cry:

Can't stop the rain from falling down. Can't the my heart from loving you.

Sorry Whatthe, I meant:

I have been sticking to CLASSICAL MUSIC TO HEAL FROM MY COPEP.

I'm fed up with classical music, they are nice but all the time it becomes boring, really boring

Evanescence - Forgive Me
Evanescence - Missing
Evanescence - Even in Death
Evanescence - Anything for you
Evanescence - Understanding
Evanescence - Solitude
Evanescence - Taking over me
HIM - Love you like I do
HIM - Gone with the Sin
HIM - Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart
HIM - Right Here in my arms
Switchfoot - I dare you to move

Evanescence is by far the most moving musical group Ive ever heard, incorporating choir, great orchestral scores, and moving guitar, most of the stuff here is from along time ago. Him is the greatest dark love songs ever, very powerful in their own right. If you want any of this music just ask.

Little Goodbyes - SheDaisy

Any Man of Mine - Shania Twain

Those are a few my oldest daughter and I like.

Rasputin, dear, I don't want you to cry! Though I know how necessary it is sometimes. My falling back would, believe it or not (and I am aging myself here), include Air Supply, Barry Manilow and the Bee Gees. But now, Cher has been my soul saver - and I love the Bryan Adams song. That was this week's find. Yes, classical can be boring, but sometimes it is just what the soul needs. Strangely enough I love the haunting music from Schindler's List.

SoVeryLost, thank you for turning me to Evanescence. I have some of their music, but have never really listened to it. I am going to do so now.

Hugs,
wtb

Hi Everyone,

I usually just listen to the radio to whatever appeals to me at the time. But recently while studying or just laying around at home I listen to Foxtel channel 844 - it is call Cafe Music - and there are other types of music/singing on adjoining channels also.

The recently new radio station 2SER on 107.3 (I think) has a great variety (of which some I don't like) and pretty straight forward stuff.

See ya Pedro The Swift.

Evanescence - My Immortal

"These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me "

Anything by Pink....especially her first album...Mizunderstood.

I'm listening to it as we speak.

Definately empowering for any woman....it's all about respect, not taking any sh$#, getting back up after falling down, etc.

I LOVE IT!!!!!

I sometimes feel empowered by listening to Liz Phair--yes, it is dysfunctional bitch music, but she is comfortable with that. Not a lot of 'show me how to please you, help me to love you' songs. Not her new album, it isn't great, but her older stuff definately. Great Woman Music.

I like Missy Elliot. That song where she's trying to get Beyonce to go out with her and Beyonce is so codependent...it just cracks me up.

Hi, I love "Moondance" too, (no doubt). I used to jam with it. Van Morrison has had his share of struggles. Unfortunately, I returned the cd to an ex-friend (codependent relationship - of extreme proportion). I still like the song though. I'll just get my own cd, right?

Have a Great Day.

I know it sounds cheesy, but I like to put on "I Will Survive" It really empowers me.
