Hello Therapists:

I am in need of advices about the graduate school. I am currently living in California and would like to relocate to Centeral Florida for the graduate school. I am interested in applying one employer that would be suitable for my BS degree. The employer offers the program to pay the tutition fees after working one year.

I am concerned about the state of Florida's educational systems. Are they good as other states for mental health counseling field? I am worried if I decide to move back to California. Will employers accept my degree in mental health counseling from Centeral Florida University? I heard that most employers care about where co-workers went to their graduate school.

I heard some co-workers and employers told me that they know that New York, Californa, and Texas have best educational systems. What about Florida?

Your suggestions and feedback are welcome!!

go on the internet and contact some schools in Florida and or their professional associations. Ask them those questions. I'm sure that they will know the answers for your state.

When I took my nursing NCLEX exam in Wisconsin, it was rated number 3 in the nation; New York and California as the tope two, respectfully.

I just moved to sounthern Florida. I was a bit apprehensive about practicing here as the state runs (low end) number 41st of the states for health care system. Makes you wonder?

But southern Florida needs therapists desperately as the retired peopuation is a heavy flow from NY state.

As far as nursing goes, had I schooled here and moved to another state with higher standards, I would be required to retest. Lucky for me I came from a state that has a great educational system.

So some research on Google. Write the FAU here for information.

We here are, respectfully, just lay people with diverse backgrounds as you see when you surf the threads here.*wink

Best wishes in your endeavor,

Sew
